The Meier Helmbrecht, written by Wernher der Gärtner between 1250 and 1280, has often been object of study especially with regard to the protagonist’s extreme ambition and the disowning of his own origins and of his family heritage, but it also offers excellent opportunities for linguistic reflexions. Measuring something that cannot be grasped – Reflections about Methodology in Elicitation of Spoken Competence

The focus of this article is on reflections about methodology and the methodical choices in empirical research into the role of consciousness in the acquisition of spoken competence in German as second or third foreign language. Seeing language as a complex, dynamic system, I want to show how learning fluctuates. I would like to demonstrate that there is a continuous fluctuation between nonlinearity and stability which depends on particular driving forces. These forces have to be captured by methods whose aim is to increase the certainty of data. These reflections were proved by a case that wants to demonstrate how a multi-methodical approach works in this direction.

In this article we examine some effects of language contact in the multilingual province of Trento, where Romance and Germanic varieties have been in contact for centuries. We focus on the syntax of phrasal verbs (e. g. ‘go out’, ‘get away’) in Trentin, a Romance dialect group, in Fassan, a Rhaeto-romance variety, and in Cimbrian, a German(ic) minority language. In particular, we deal with two word order phenomena which might be attributed to contact with the more prestigious or widespread varieties spoken in the area: (i) in some Fassan phrasal verbs we find the order «Verb – XP – Locative element», which resembles the German order; (ii) in Cimbrian various syntactic positions are possible…

Ziel dieses Konzeptpapiers ist die theoretische Verortung leitender Prinzipen einer DaFLehrerInnenbildungspilotierung, die zwischen Juli 2017 und April 2018 im ERASMUS+-Projekt Lehrkompetenzentwicklung für extensiven Leseunterricht (LEELU) in Zusammenarbeit der Universitäten Budapest (ELTE), Palermo, Utrecht und Wien mit neun Schulen auf Klassenstufe 10 umgesetzt wurde. In diesem Beitrag soll reflektiert werden, wie die Kooperation zwischen vier Hochschulteams bei der Durchführung eines Erasmus+-Projekts, das in einem wesentlichen Teil der Professionalisierung von Lehrpersonen gewidmet ist, im Anfangsstadium verlaufen ist. Des Weiteren wird das in Teamarbeit entwickelte Modell für die Lehrerbildung beschrieben, das auf dem Zusammenführen diverser Perspektiven von Lehrenden und Lehramtsstudierenden regional wie auch länderübergreifend basiert und diesen Austausch zur Grundlage eines in der Praxis verankerten Lehrerbildungskonzepts macht.

Utilizzare la propria voce fa parte dell’espressione dell’identità personale. Colui che intraprende lo studio di una lingua straniera si trova talora difronte alla difficoltà di articolare suoni e strutture prosodiche differenti dalla sua lingua nativa e altresì lontani dal proprio vissuto: strani ed estranei. Inoltre pregiudizi ricorrenti possono inibire l’attitudine dell’apprendente nei confronti della lingua che sta imparando. Questo contributo propone nuovi approcci alla lingua tedesca orale, diversi da quelli offerti dai libri di testo in uso nelle scuole italiane.
