Ei biologisk ulykke : maskulinitetskonstruksjoner og kjønnsideologi i Grethe Nestors roman Kryp
2007
2011
Author's version of an article published in the journal: Edda. Romanen representer…
Nineteen eighty-four´s dystopian vision: power and the individual
2007
Masteroppgave i engelsk, Høgskolen i Agder, Kristiansand Orwell’s Nineteen Eighty-Four is by many known for, and consequently discussed in terms of, its “predictions” of the future, and its political satire. This thesis does not aim at discussing Orwell’s political ambitions, nor the alleged “prophecy” of the novel. Rather, this thesis focuses on and discusses the dystopian nightmare of Nineteen Eighty-Four, which is characterised by totalitarianism and its power discourse. The novel’s society is emphasised by O’Brien’s statement of “the boot stamping on a human face.” I have used Foucault’s theory on Pastoral power to explain the power discourse of the Party. Furthermore, I have explained …
Francisco Pizarro de Rosa Arciniega-Un intento de legitimación de la voz de una historiadora
2022
A reading of the historical novel Francisco Pizarro, written by the Peruvian Rosa Arciniega in 1936, is proposed. Through the analysis of the work, we will reflect on the relationship of the writer with the national historiography and with the ideal of a woman who dominated Latin American political and cultural discourse in the first half of the 20th century. From this, we seek to identify the place that the author constructs for herself within the intellectual field.
Seasonal dynamics of the bacterial community in forest soils under different quantities of leaf litter
2010
International audience; Soil microbial communities play an important role in soil carbon functioning, particularly in forest ecosystems. Their variation in response to climate change may affect soil carbon processes, highlighting the importance of understanding how environmental factors affect microbial communities. This study aimed to determine to what extent an increase in the quantity of fresh litter may affect heterotrophic mineralization of organic carbon and bacterial community structure in soil and litter. A litter manipulation experiment was performed in situ in a temperate deciduous forest. Three treatments of fresh litter inputs were considered: litter exclusion, natural condition…
Soil aggregates and humus systems
2016
The European Society for Soil Conservation Conference, organized by the Babes-Bolyai University will take place from 15th June to the 18th June 2016 at the Babes-Bolyai University of Cluj-Napoca in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. The conference will cover areas like Soils – Our Common Future” stresses the vital interconnection between soil and life, as well as its importance for the future of the human society.; International audience; The survey of few main morphological soil aggregates (with intrinsic biological, chemical and physical contents) reveals the existence of different humus systems. Recognizable by naked eyes in the field, each humus system is confined in an ecological frame (climate, ve…

L’umanismo nell’opera narrativa e divulgativa di Alberto Manzi
2019
Alberto Manzi is a key figure in the panorama of the development of Italian language and culture. The analysis of his biography and his writing highlights the humanism that characterizes all his literary works and his pedagogical thinking. A fil rouge that underlies his life and professional experiences, an urgency of renewal that results in a concrete commitment against injustice and ignorance, in the expression of a new paideia, in politically engaged writing. He wrote many novels (Grogh storia di un castoro, Collodi award, translated in 20 languages; Orzowei, honored at the Andersen award translated in 32 languages), tales, articles, informative writings; he developed TV and radio program…
Responses of co-occurring populations of Dendrobaena octaedra (Lumbricidae) and Cognettia sphagnetorum (Enchytraeidae) to soil pH, moisture and resou…
2000
Summary Dendrobaena octaedra (Lumbricidae) and Cognettia sphagnetorum (Enchytraeidae) are the two most dominating soil invertebrates in terms of biomass in boreal coniferous forest soils. A microcosm experiment was set up in order to study the influence of pH, moisture and resource addition on D. octaedra and C. sphagnetorum when both species are simultaneously present. Two kinds of coniferous forest humus were used as substrate, pine stand humus (pH 4.2), and spruce stand humus (pH 4.6); in the third treatment the pine stand humus was adjusted with slaked lime (CaOH 2 ) to the same initial pH as the spruce stand humus. Each substrate was adjusted to water contents of 25%, 42.5% and 60% of …
Vertical stratification and trophic interactions among organisms of a soil decomposer food web – a field experiment using 15N as a tool
2002
Abstract In this field study, we explored the spatial segregation between the litter- and humus-inhabiting organisms of the detrital food web using 15 N-isotope technique. The study was established in 11 × 11 m plots fertilized with 15 N-labelled urea. Ten years after urea application, soil samples were taken, both from the litter layer and the combined F+H layer. The samples were analysed for N content and the proportion of 15 N in (i) the residual organic matter in the litter and F+H layer (excluding microbes), (ii) microbial biomass, and (iii) various feeding guilds of soil fauna. The basal resource, soil microbes, and the fauna were more enriched with 15 N in the F+H layer than in the l…
