Mobilité, droits et citoyenneté des femmes dans l’Italie médiévale et moderne

In medieval and early modern Italy, women were excluded from political citizenship, but they were able to participate in various forms of belonging to a particular place. Geographical mobility affected the legal status of individuals, not only because of the various ways of distinguishing between citizens and foreigners, but also because the provisions of municipal law might differ from one place to another, especially regarding women’s status and rights, for example regarding property and inheritance. This essay illustrates the principal issues relating to women’s citizenship, and examines the reactions of both women and men to the multitude and variety of local statutory laws.

Pharmacological and electrophysiological studies provide evidence for the involvement of different nicotinic acetylcholine receptor isoforms in rat neocortical and hippocampal signal transduction. Yet, rather little is known on the cellular localization of these isoforms. With the availability of isoform specific nucleic acid probes and sensitive non-isotopic detection systems, nicotinic receptors can be studied on the mRNA level in individual neurons. Uptake and Fate of Fluorescently Labeled DNA Nanostructures in Cellular Environments: A Cautionary Tale.

[Image: see text] Fluorescent dye labeling of DNA oligonucleotides and nanostructures is one of the most used techniques to track their fate and cellular localization inside cells. Here, we report that intracellular fluorescence, and even FRET signals, cannot be correlated with the cellular uptake of intact DNA structures. Live cell imaging revealed high colocalization of cyanine-labeled DNA oligos and nanostructures with phosphorylated small-molecule cyanine dyes, one of the degradation products from these DNA compounds. (K)over-bar* mesons in dense matter

We study the properties of (K) over bar* mesons in nuclear matter using a unitary approach in coupled channels within the framework of the local hidden gauge formalism and incorporating the (K) over bar pi decay channel in matter. The in-medium (K) over bar *N interaction accounts for Pauli blocking effects and incorporates the (K) over bar* self-energy in a self-consistent manner. We also obtain the (K) over bar* (off-shell) spectral function and analyze its behavior at finite density and momentum. The application of genomic technologies has facilitated the assessment of genomic inbreeding based on single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). In this study, we computed several runs of homozygosity (ROH) parameters to investigate the patterns of homozygosity using Illumina Goat SNP50 in five Italian local populations: Argentata dell’Etna (N = 48), Derivata di Siria (N = 32), Girgentana (N = 59), Maltese (N = 16) and Messinese (N = 22). Disorder-induced single-mode transmission.

Localized states trap waves propagating in a disordered potential and play a crucial role in Anderson localization, which is the absence of diffusion due to disorder. Some localized states are barely coupled with neighbours because of differences in wavelength or small spatial overlap, thus preventing energy leakage to the surroundings. This is the same degree of isolation found in the homogeneous core of a single-mode optical fibre. β-catenin is a central effector of the Wnt pathway and one of the players in Ca+-dependent cell-cell adhesion. While many wnts are present and expressed in vertebrates, only one β-catenin exists in the majority of the organisms. One intriguing exception is zebrafish that carries two genes for β-catenin.
