Tässä tutkimuksessa tarkastellaan työpaikan menettämisen ja muiden taloudellisten ja ei-taloudellisten kannustimien vaikutuksia alueelliseen muuttoliikkeeseen. Käytämme yhdistettyä työnantaja-työntekijäaineistoa sekä tietoja alueellisista asuntomarkkinoista. Työpaikan menettäneillä tarkoitamme heitä, jotka menettävät työpaikkansa toimipaikan sulkemisen tai joukkoirtisanomisen takia. Työpaikan menetys lisää henkilön muuttoalttiutta noin 80 prosentilla. Työpaikan menettäneet näyttäisivätkin reagoivan taloudellisiin kannustimiin, sillä alhainen oletettu palkkataso ja korkeat asuntojen hinnat alueella ovat yhteydessä lisääntyneeseen muuttoalttiuteen alueelta, josta henkilö on jäänyt työttömäksi…

W artykule omówiono kwestię relacji Unii Europejskiej, w szczególności Niemiec, z Turcją w świetle kryzysu migracyjnego, czyli politykę ustępstw i „appeasementu”, jaką oba wymienione podmioty wdrożyły względem państwa nad Bosforem, licząc na jego pomoc w zatrzymaniu fal uchodźców. Migration crisis in Europe – myths and reality

Artykuł zawiera próbę zarysowania przyczyn i możliwych sposobów rozwiązania kryzysu migracyjnego, jaki zaistniał w państwach Unii Europejskiej w pierwszych dwóch dekadach XXI stulecia. Dokonano krytycznej oceny mitów i negatywnych stereotypów narosłych wokół fali emigracji. Omówiono konsekwencje przyjęcia Konwencji Dublińskiej (1990) oraz jej nowelizacji (2003 i 2014), gdzie zostały określone zasady postępowania w pro-cesie o status uchodźcy. Intramammary infections (IMI) are a complex of inflammatory diseases of the mammary gland. Mastitis is one of the most frequent IMI affecting small dairy ruminants. Direct selection against clinical mastitis is difficult because mastitis in not widely recorded; therefore, somatic cell count (SCC) is promoted as selection criterion for mastitis resistance. A dataset containing 2,457 first- lactation Valle del Belice ewes from 14 flocks recorded from 1998 to 2003 was analysed. In total 116 sires with at least four daughters with a record were included in the pedigree file. Test-day IMI events were coded as a binary trait using a SCC cut-off value of 750,000 cells/ml. The increase in international student mobility raises questions of how many international students choose to stay in their host country and the reasons why some stay and others leave. This study examines factors affecting international students to stay in Finland three years after graduation. Tracking 13 (years) graduating cohorts across national (Finland) data registries, we find family ties and labour market opportunities relate to an increased probability an international student stays in Finland three years after graduation. peerReviewed

Experiences of left-behind family members of transnational migrant workers have been in the shadow of academic discourse on migration. To contribute to the slowly growing body of literature, this study explores the impact of male out-migration on left-behind wives. The study proposes and applies a novel framework to estimate Women Empowerment Index (WEI) for comparing the empowerment level across households with and without men in transnational labor.
