Local DoS applications with micro wind generation systems

In this paper a wind electrical power generation system for Distributed on Site (DoS) applications is proposed. This system was developed and conceived in order to guarantee simple installation, use and service, obtaining a product that can be easily industrialized and put into the market with limited costs. A Model-Based Control Strategy for Wind Turbines with Asynchronous Generator

In this paper a model based control methodology is described with reference to a wind turbine for production of alternative energy. The mathematical model of a 600 kW wind turbine is taken into account assuming a well defined profile of the rotor blades. A set of reference angular speeds of the asynchronous generator and a set of reference pitch angles of the blade wind turbine are obtained in order to maximize the extracted wind power and to reach equilibrium conditions between the wind-generated torque and the electric torque of the generator. Finally a PID model based controller is designed and then tested by means of simulation experiments.

Vibration signature analysis for rotor broken bar diagnosis in double cage induction motor drives

The paper investigates the diagnosis of rotor broken bars in field oriented controlled (FOC) double cage induction motor drives, using current and vibration signature analysis techniques. The Impact of the closed loop control system cannot be neglected when the detection of asymmetries in the machine are based on the signature analysis of electrical variables. The proposed diagnosis approach is based on optimized use of wavelet analysis by a pre-processing of phase current or axial/radial vibration signals. The use of sea waves for generation of electrical energy and Hydrogen

Recently linear synchronous generator for the exploitation of sea wave energy has been proposed. That solution does not require reactive power to magnetize but needs permanent magnets to assure the excitation. The electrical energy generated by such a device must be converted and conditioned in order to match the instantaneous utility requirements and a power link from the sea to an interconnection is needed. Extended friction model of a hydraulic actuated system

The main contribution of this paper is an experimental validation and comparison of three different friction models for an electro-hydraulic servo system. The first is the well-kn own LuGre model which incorporates dynamic friction effects. The second model is based on a relatively recent publication by Yanada in 2008 [6], which incorporates liquid film thickness in the servo valve. The third model is a new contribution presented in this paper, where valve underlap and mass acceleration are combined with the LuGre model. This paper presents a new approach in realizing various carrier-based pulsewidth-modulation techniques by a generalized control algorithm, which is referred to as the universal control algorithm and is obtained via unequal sharing of null states.
