This article proposes a novel online fault diagnosis scheme for industrial powertrains without using historical faulty or labeled training data. The proposed method combines a one-class support vector machine (SVM) based anomaly detection and supervised convolutional neural network (CNN) algorithms to online detect multiple faults and fault severities under variable speeds and loads. Optimization of cogging force in a linear permanent magnet generator for the conversion of sea waves energy

In this paper an approach to the optimization of cogging force in a linear permanent magnet generator for the conversion of sea waves energy is presented. We have optimized the cogging force of a linear permanent magnet generator by using a 3D FEM parametric simulation. Several possible design solutions have been computed. A generator has been built and the results of the minimization procedure has been experimentally validated.

In this article we study a model for the evolution of the spectral sensitivity of visual receptors for agents in a continuous virtual environment. The model uses a genetic algorithm (GA) to evolve the agent sensors along with the control of the agents by requiring the agents to solve certain tasks in the simulation environment. The properties of the evolved sensors are analyzed for different scenarios. The current literature of information systems has dealt extensively with all kinds of exceptions. There are several studies defining the concept of exception and even providing classifications. However, no studies provide a method for verifying the rules in order to handle exceptions and to achieve the goals set by an organization's rules. In this paper, a model employing a set of unique input/output (UIO) sequences is presented for verifying such rules. The model originally presented for Finite State Machines (FSM) has been modified to include concepts of exception handling and will be used to form a tool usable for verifying exception handling rules in OISs.

The quickest way for monitoring soil compaction differences in a field is measuring cone penetrometer resistance. Soil compaction can be significantly spatially variable, depending on the amount and distribution of the traffic of agricultural machines in the field. Therefore, it could be useful to measure soil compaction on a localised basis, in order to produce maps of the damages caused by the traffic of agricultural machines and/or the action of tillage implements.
