Abstract Introduction: The construct validity of the Disabilities of the Arm, Shoulder and Hand questionnaire (DASH) has previously been questioned. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the measurement properties of the Finnish version of the DASH for assessing disability in patients with hand complaints using Rasch Measurement Theory. Methods: A cohort of 193 patients with typical hand and wrist complaints were recruited at a surgery outpatient clinic. Lasten akuutin lymfoblastileukemian ylläpitovaiheen hoidossa tehtävät lääkeannostuspäätökset pohjataan nykyisin potilaan veren valkosolupitoisuuteen, joka on hoidon tehokkuudesta kertova tekijä. Potilaalle sopiva lääkeannostus on hoidon onnistumisen ja turvallisuuden kannalta tärkeä, mutta sen löytäminen on vaikeaa, sillä annettu lääkitys näkyy valkosolupitoisuudessa viiveellä, ja potilaiden elimistön reagointi lääkitykseen on yksilöllistä. Sopivan lääkeannostuksen löytämistä hankaloittavat myös hoidonaikaiset tulehdukset, jotka voivat muuttaa valkosolupitoisuutta hetkellisesti. Tutkielmassani tarkastelen vammaisten ihmisten vanhemmuuden kokemuksia nykypäivän Suomessa sekä sitä, miten vammaiset ihmiset, kertoessaan vanhemmuudestaan, suhteuttavat oman itse kerrotun vanhemmuuden tarinansa ja kulturaalisesti konstruoidun vanhemmuuden mallitarinan toisiinsa. Vanhemmuuden mallitarinalla tarkoitan tässä tietyssä ajassa ja kulttuurissa määritellyksi tullutta, kaikkien kulttuurin jäsenten jakamaa käsitystä hyvästä vanhemmuudesta. Vanhemmuuden mallitarinan voi jakaa myös isyyden ja äitiyden mallitarinoiksi. Variational principle and bifurcations in stability analysis of panels

In this paper, the stability of a simply supported axially moving elastic panel is considered. A complex variable technique and bifurcation theory are applied. As a result, variational equations and a variational principle are derived. Anal- ysis of the variational principle allows the study of qualitative properties of the bifurcation points. Asymptotic behaviour in a small neighbourhood around an arbitrary bifurcation point is analyzed and presented. It is shown analytically that the eigenvalue curves in the (ω, V0) plane cross both the ω and V0 axes perpendicularly.
