A generalization of Nadler fixed point theorem
2015
Jleli and Samet gave a new generalization of the Banach contraction principle in the setting of Branciari metric spaces [Jleli, M. and Samet, B., A new generalization of the Banach contraction principle, J. Inequal. Appl., 2014:38 (2014)]. The purpose of this paper is to study the existence of fixed points for multivalued mappings, under a similar contractive condition, in the setting of complete metric spaces. Some examples are provided to illustrate the new theory.
Some Integral Type Fixed-Point Theorems and an Application to Systems of Functional Equations
2013
In this paper, we prove a new common fixed point theorem for four self mappings by using the notions of compatibility and subsequential continuity (alternate subcompatibility and reciprocal continuity) in metric spaces satisfying a general contractive condition of integral type. We give some examples to support the useability of our main result. Also, we obtain some fixed point theorems of Gregus type for four mappings satisfying a strict general contractive condition of integral type in metric spaces. We conclude the paper with an application of our main result to solvability of systems of functional equations.
On Branciari’s theorem for weakly compatible mappings
2010
AbstractIn a recent paper B. Samet and H. Yazidi [B. Samet, H. Yazidi, An extension of Banach fixed point theorem for mappings satisfying a contractive condition of integral type, Ital. J. Pure Appl. Math. (in press)] have obtained an interesting theorem for mappings satisfying a contractive condition of integral type. The aim of this note is to present a generalization of their main result.
Fixed points of weakly compatible mappings satisfying generalized $\varphi$-weak contractions
2014
In this paper, utilizing the notion of the common limit range property, we prove some new integral type common fixed point theorems for weakly compatible mappings satisfying a \(\varphi \)-weak contractive condition in metric spaces. Moreover, we extend our results to four finite families of self mappings, and furnish an illustrative example and an application to support our main theorem. Our results improve, extend, and generalize well-known results on the topic in the literature.
Common fixed point theorems for families of occasionally weakly compatible mappings
2011
We prove some common fixed point theorems in probabilistic semi-metric spaces for families of occasionally weakly compatible mappings. We also give a common fixed point theorem for mappings satisfying an integral-type implicit relation.
Some Common Coupled Fixed Point Results for Generalized Contraction in Complex-Valued Metric Spaces
2013
We introduce and study the notion of common coupled fixed points for a pair of mappings in complex valued metric space and demonstrate the existence and uniqueness of the common coupled fixed points in a complete complex-valued metric space in view of diverse contractive conditions. In addition, our investigations are well supported by nontrivial examples.
Coincidence and fixed points for contractions and cyclical contractions in partial metric spaces
2012
Abstract We prove some coincidence and common fixed point results for three mappings satisfying a generalized weak contractive condition in ordered partial metric spaces. As application of the presented results, we give a unique fixed point result for a mapping satisfying a weak cyclical contractive condition. We also provide some illustrative examples. Set-valued mappings in partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces
2014
Abstract In this paper, we provide coincidence point and fixed point theorems satisfying an implicit relation, which extends and generalizes the result of Gregori and Sapena, for set-valued mappings in complete partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces. Also we prove a fixed point theorem for set-valued mappings on complete partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces which generalizes results of Mihet and Tirado. MSC:54E40, 54E35, 54H25.
Guaranteed and computable error bounds for approximations constructed by an iterative decoupling of the Biot problem
2021
The paper is concerned with guaranteed a posteriori error estimates for a class of evolutionary problems related to poroelastic media governed by the quasi-static linear Biot equations. The system is decoupled by employing the fixed-stress split scheme, which leads to an iteratively solved semi-discrete system. The error bounds are derived by combining a posteriori estimates for contractive mappings with functional type error control for elliptic partial differential equations. The estimates are applicable to any approximation in the admissible functional space and are independent of the discretization method. They are fully computable, do not contain mesh-dependent constants, and provide r…
Spatio-temporal analysis of the Covid-19 spread in Italy by Bayesian hierarchical models
2021
In this paper, we investigate the spatio-temporal spread pattern of the virus Covid-19 in Italy, during the first wave of infections, from February to October 2020. We provide a disease mapping of the virus infections, by using the Besag-Yorke-Molliè model and its spatio-temporal extensions. Our results confirm the effectiveness of the lockdown action, and show that, during the first wave, the virus spread by an inhomogeneous spatial trend and each province was characterised by a specific temporal trend, independent of the temporal evolution of the observed cases in the other provinces
