An interdisciplinary and multi-institutional group of science and art conservation specialists has provided new insight into the painting materials used in the polychrome walls and wooden ceilings in four seventeenth century Spanish colonial churches of Nueva Vizcaya (Chihuahua, Mexico). A multi-analytical study of the decorative surfaces was performed in situ using spectroscopic approaches (XRF, FORS), False Colour Infrared Reflectography – IRFC, as well as micro sampling for ATR-FTIR, LM and GC/MS laboratory analyses. After the fall of Constantinople (1453), Pero Tafur and Bertrandon de La Broquière make known their works, which are two of the most important travel books written in Europe during the fifteenth century. Both travellers had known, between fifteen and twenty years before, the emperor of Greece, John VIII Palaiologos, Pope Eugene IV and other protagonists of the councils of Basel (1431-1434) and Ferrara-Florence (1438-1439), which decreed the union between the Roman and Greek churches. Resumen: El presente articulo propone una lectura de las novelas escritas por los hijos de detenidos-desaparecidos argentinos como instrumentos de duelo. A traves de la ficcion como testimonio, el lector deviene testigo de la vivencia de la catastrofe del narrador, lo que resulta en un acto de rememoracion central en el duelo hecho a traves de la literatura.
