Continuous and Intermittent Alcohol Free-Choice from Pre-gestational Time to Lactation: Focus on Drinking Trajectories and Maternal Behavior

2016

Background: Alcohol consumption during pregnancy and lactation induces detrimental consequences, that are not limited to the direct in utero effects of the drug on fetuses, but extend to maternal care. However, the occurrence and severity of alcohol toxicity are related to the drinking pattern and the time of exposure. The present study investigated in female rats long-term alcohol drinking trajectories, by a continuous and intermittent free-choice paradigm, during pre-gestational time, pregnancy, and lactation; moreover, the consequences of long-term alcohol consumption on the response to natural reward and maternal behavior were evaluated. Methods: Virgin female rats were exposed to home-…

Pregnancy in advanced maternal age: maternal and fetal outcome.

2014

The objective of this research is to evaluate maternal and fetal outcome of pregnant women over 40 years. The outcome has been evaluated through the following data: age, nationality, number of deliveries, complications of pregnancy, type of delivery, newborn's weight and APGAR index. 201 pregnant women have been recruited. The GDM has been observed in 11 women (5.5%). The antepartum haemorrhage has been observed in 7 women (3.5%). The cesarean section rate was 76% in the Group of primiparae woman and 64% in the Group of multiparae. The incidence of Children LBW (low Birth weight) was 17% in the primiparae and 10% in the multiparare.

Depresijas un uztvertā emocionālā siltuma bērnībā saistība ar mātes narcistiskām personības iezīmēm 18-44 gadus veciem pieaugušajiem

2022

Pētījuma mērķis bija izpētīt saistības starp depresiju, uztverto emocionālo siltumu bērnībā un mātes narcistiskām personības iezīmēm 18 – 44 gadus veciem pieaugušajiem. Pētījums tika veikts divās atkarīgās izlasēs. Pirmo izlasi veido 80 pieaugušie vecumā no 18 līdz 44 gadiem (M = 30,04, SD = 7,75), kas aizpildīja Epidemioloģijas pētījumu centra depresijas skalu (Center for Epidemiologic Studies Depression Scale (Eaton, Muntaner, Smith, Tien & Ybarra, 2004)), Latvijā aptauju adaptējušas M. Bērtule un I. Melne 2018. gadā (Bērtule & Melne, 2018), Vecāku attieksmes aptauju (Parental Bonding Instrument (Parker, Tupling & Brown, 1979)), Latvijā aptauju adaptējusi I. Mapping the actions of prolactin in the brain: sexual dimorphism, steroid regulation and the neuroendocrinology of maternal behaviour

2017

2010

Pregnancy involves physical changes but also relational and affective ones. During the nine months’ period and in the months following the birth, women develop a series of expectations and fantasies about themselves and their child. The way women live their motherhood expresses, in addition, the cultural values, the myths, the rules society has transmitted to them. Then, birth can be considered as a cultural event with distinctive features. Moving from these considerations, we wondered how immigrant women live their experience of motherhood in a foreign country. We examined the way women reconstruct the history of their pregnancy in relation to their own maternal identity, the identity of t…

Characterization of maternal behaviours in mice. Pheromonal control and nonapeptidergic substrate

2016
