On the group of the automorphisms of some algebraic systems
1968
Within a framework of general algebra we firstly formulate a proposition on the group of the automorphisms of some irreducible algebrae (id est algebrae without proper non trivial subalgebrae). This proposition includes as particular cases the uniqueness of the automorphisms of the rational field and the Burnside theorem on the commutant of an irreducible set of operators of a finite dimensional vector space over an algebraically closed field. Afterwards we apply the general proposition to modules with irreducible sets of semilinear operators and we obtain a theorem which generalises from several points of view the Burnside theorem. Finally we derive as an application a proposition which sp…
NeutroAlgebra is a Generalization of Partial Algebra
2020
In this paper we recall, improve, and extend several definitions, properties and applications of our previous 2019 research referred to NeutroAlgebras and AntiAlgebras (also called NeutroAlgebraic Structures and respectively AntiAlgebraic Structures). Let <A> be an item (concept, attribute, idea, proposition, theory, etc.). Through the process of neutrosphication, we split the nonempty space we work on into three regions {two opposite ones corresponding to <A> and <antiA>, and one corresponding to neutral (indeterminate) <neutA> (also denoted <neutroA>) between the opposites}, which may or may not be disjoint – depending on the application, but they are …

Singular integrals and rectifiability
2002
We shall discuss singular integrals on lower dimensional subsets of Rn. A survey of this topic was given in [M4]. The first part of this paper gives a quick review of some results discussed in [M4] and a survey of some newer results and open problems. In the second part we prove some results on the Riesz kernels in Rn. As far as I know, they have not been explicitly stated and proved, but they are very closely related to some earlier results and methods. Hodge Numbers for the Cohomology of Calabi-Yau Type Local Systems
2014
We determine the Hodge numbers of the cohomology group \(H_{L^{2}}^{1}(S, \mathbb{V}) = H^{1}(\bar{S},j_{{\ast}}\mathbb{V})\) using Higgs cohomology, where the local system \(\mathbb{V}\) is induced by a family of Calabi-Yau threefolds over a smooth, quasi-projective curve S. This generalizes previous work to the case of quasi-unipotent, but not necessarily unipotent, local monodromies at infinity. We give applications to Rohde’s families of Calabi-Yau 3-folds.
Improvement of Grüss and Ostrowski type inequalities
2015
Several inequalities of Ostrowski-Gr?ss-type available in the literature are generalized considering the weighted case of them. The inequality of Gr?ss type proved by P. Cerone and S.S. Dragomir [3] is extended for the weighted case.
Beyond frames: Semi-frames and reproducing pairs
2017
Frames are nowadays a standard tool in many areas of mathematics, physics, and engineering. However, there are situations where it is difficult, even impossible, to design an appropriate frame. Thus there is room for generalizations, obtained by relaxing the constraints. A first case is that of semi-frames, in which one frame bound only is satisfied. Accordingly, one has to distinguish between upper and lower semi-frames. We will summarize this construction. Even more, one may get rid of both bounds, but then one needs two basic functions and one is led to the notion of reproducing pair. It turns out that every reproducing pair generates two Hilbert spaces, conjugate dual of each other. We …
Some problems in number theory that arise from group theory
2021
In this expository paper, we present several open problems in number theory that have arisen while doing research in group theory. These problems are on arithmetical functions or partitions. Solving some of these problems would allow to solve some open problem in group theory.
