This dissertation deals with the meaning of the peacock and the phoenix within contexts of worship and funerary contexts in the Mediterranean area, between the IVth and the XIIth centuries. The study is based on an iconographic documentation meeting 490 items of the peacock and 68 items of the phoenix. These birds were imaged in various ways as well as coins, paintings of catacombs, sarcophagi, mosaics (pavements, domes, apses, …), manuscripts, and even chancel screens. The analysis of the documentation indicates that links were weaved between both birds associated with the idea of revival long before the IVth century. Between the Transformacions of Francesc Alegre (c.1452 - c.1508) and the mythological proses of Joan Roís de Corella some textual coincidences have been detected. Not without reservations, these coincidences have been explained as Corellas influence on Alegre. This is the most satisfactory explanation, given Alegre’s admiration and imitation of Corella’s prose, and Corella’s huge fame in the second half of the fifteenth century. However, Alegre knew earlier versions of Ovid’s Metamorphoses, such as that by Francesc de Pinós (1416-1475), or the anonymous Castilian version, both nowadays lost. Among the earliest habitats of the early Middle Ages studied in Franche-Comté, the Pratz le Curtillet a settlement sets itself apart by its location in the Jura highlands, renowned for its remoteness and inhospitable landscapes. On the Lizon plateau, the scope of the archaeological work explored on the 16 hectares and the quality of the remains still constitute an exceptional complex today. An imposing 16m by 13m stone building flanked by an annex forms the residential part of the estate, while sheltering fodder and livestock, while the second building houses a forge. Il contributo esamina il ruolo degli Ospedalieri a Corleone, grosso centro agricolo della Sicilia, tra l'inchiesta papale del 1373 e la morte del precettore Antonio Taberna (1419). Nel decennio 1378-1388 esponenti di ricche famiglie furono sepolti a S. Giovanni, lasciarono denaro, commissionarono oggetti sacri , dipinti e Bianca de Brancaccio costruì un nuovo ospedale. Il precettore Ruggero Vaccarella migliorò le finanze, ma nel 1399 fu sostituito con Antonio Traversa, esponente di una nota famiglia messinese.
