En este articulo se analizan, a partir de los microdatos de la Estadística de Variaciones Residenciales del período 1988-2001, las características demográficas y los patrones espaciales de las migraciones internas de la población extranjera en España. Entre los principales resultados de este trabajoso destacan: una mayor intensidad migratoria de los extranjeros con relación a los españoles; los extranjeros muestran una gran diversidad de patrones migratorios cuando se consideran diferentes nacionalidades. El trabajo pretende conocer las estructuras de los discursos sobre inmigración, especialmente de aquellos que también abordan el tema de las drogas. Además se pretende desarrollar un modelo empíricamente fundamentado y teóricamente sólido de exclusión social. Para este estudio, se realizó un análisis de discursos populares en diferentes barrios de ciudades de la Comunitat Valenciana. Además, se analizaron las noticias de diversos periódicos gratuitos de dicha comunidad autónoma. Alix/AIP1 is a multifunctional adaptor protein that participates in basic cellular processes, including membrane trafficking and actin cytoskeleton assembly, by binding selectively to a variety of partner proteins. However, the mechanisms regulating Alix turnover, subcellular distribution, and function in muscle cells are unknown. We now report that Alix is expressed in skeletal muscle throughout myogenic differentiation. In myotubes, a specific pool of Alix colocalizes with Ozz, the substrate-binding component of the muscle-specific ubiquitin ligase complex Ozz-E3. Rotator cuff calcific tendinopathy is a common non-traumatic shoulder pain condition that occurs predominantly in the supraspinatus tendon. Ultrasound-guided percutaneous irrigation of calcific tendinopathy (US-PICT) is a valid treatment in the resorptive phase. A complication of calcific tendinopathy is migration of calcium deposits outside the tendon. The most common site of migration is the subacromialsubdeltoid bursa (SASD). As stated in the introduction, this chapter is included because of the special importance of quartz to estimate metamorphic conditions during and after mylonitisation. The theory behind crystal-plastic deformation is treated elsewhere (e.g. Passchier & Trouw 2005). The main optical expression of crystal-plastic deformation is smooth, non-patchy undulose extinction. Elongated grains with such undulose extinction, sometimes accompanied by deformation lamellae, are indicative for low-temperature deformation. High-Grade Mylonites

High-grade mylonites are formed at temperatures above 650 °C. They are relatively uncommon, probably because their conservation is problematic. Most mylonites formed under these conditions would tend to fully recrystallise which destroys and masks the mylonitic structure. Mylonitic features are only preserved if grain growth is somehow inhibited in the rock, e.g. by its polymineralic nature.

PurposeNation states’ neoliberal policies do not regard asylum seekers and undocumented migrants as deserving of a good life. Social work in welfare states is highly connected to the policies of nation states. There is a need to address theories in social work that have a transnational focus at the local level. Axel Honneth’s recognition theory enables an approach to forced migration from the direction of personal relations and personhood itself. The core idea is that if people cannot gain recognition, this causes harm to their self-realisation. The heat-shock protein 27 (HSP27) is up-regulated in tumor cells and released in their microenvironment. Here, we show that extracellular HSP27 has a proangiogenic effect evidenced on chick chorioallantoic membrane. To explore this effect, we test the recombinant human protein (rhHSP27) at physiopathological doses (0.1-10 μg/ml) onto human microvascular endothelial cells (HMECs) grown as monolayers or spheroids. When added onto HMECs, rhHSP27 dose-dependently accelerates cell migration (with a peak at 5 μg/ml) and favors spheroid sprouting within 12-24 h. rhHSP27 increases VEGF gene transcription and promotes secretion of VEGF-activating VEGF receptor type 2. Fibronectin (FN) is a major component of the extracellular matrix and functions in cell adhesion, cell spreading and cell migration. In the retina, FN is transiently expressed and assembled on astrocytes (ACs), which guide sprouting tip cells and deposit a provisional matrix for sprouting angiogenesis. The precise function of FN in retinal angiogenesis is largely unknown. Using genetic tools, we show that astrocytes are the major source of cellular FN during angiogenesis in the mouse retina. Deletion of astrocytic FN reduces radial endothelial migration during vascular plexus formation in a gene dose-dependent manner. Development and evolution of inner ear sensory epithelia and their innervation

The development and evolution of the inner ear sensory patches and their innervation is reviewed. Recent molecular developmental data suggest that development of these sensory patches is a developmental recapitulation of the evolutionary history. These data suggest that the ear generates multiple, functionally diverse sensory epithelia by dividing a single sensory primordium. Those epithelia will establish distinct identities through the overlapping expression of genes of which only a few are currently known.
