The Grinding Resistance of the Wheat Grain Related to the Grinding Degree For The First Break In The Wheat Milling
2011
Breakage of wheat grain during first break roller milling depends on the characteristics of the wheat (including the distributions of kernel size, hardness and moisture content) and on the design and operation of the roller mill (including roll speeds and differential, roll disposition, fluting profile, number of flutes, fluting spiral, roll gap, the degree of roll wear and the feed rate). The effects of these factors are manifest in the particle size distribution exiting first break, the compositional distribution of those particles (as large particles tend to be richer in bran, while small particles are pure endosperm), the power required to mill the wheat and the rate of roll wear. For t…
Influence of mechanical activation on the physical stability of salbutamol sulphate.
2003
Abstract In order to obtain the optimal particle size distribution for pharmaceutical powders in dry powder inhalers the particles have to be micronised. In most cases the process of micronisation is connected with a high input of energy which induces disorder and defects on the surface of the drug particles and as a result changes in the crystallinity. Consequently, changes in the physical stability of the powders may occur. To investigate changes on the physical stability of the powder, different analytical methods are used in the present investigation: laser diffraction, Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC), isothermal microcalorimetry and DVS-method. Air-jet-milling is one of the mos…
Theoretical and Experimental Researches Regarding Multilayer Materials Used for Incremental Forming
2014
Although this represents a relatively recent development in the industry, the composite multilayer sheets are currently encountered in almost all industrial domains, due to the density, mechanical strength and energy absorption properties that are higher than those of the blanks realised from a single material. These materials are useful especially in domains such a the automotive industry, where the vehicles must fulfil simultaneously conditions of increased passenger safety, increased comfort, increase of the loading capacity in conditions of a reduced energy consumption. First of all the paper shows the types of multilayer sheets and their areas and areas of use, then the paper analyzes …
A Comparative Analysis of the Machined Surfaces Quality of an Aluminum Alloy According to the Cutting Speed and Cutting Depth Variations
2019
The milling operations are a topical and especially future-oriented methods. The purpose of this scientific paper is to carry out an experimental research referring to the end-milling process of the 7136 aluminum alloy. This paper is a continuation of the own research activity carried out so far, within a company with the field of activity in the aerospace industry. The main objective is a comparative analysis which was carried out on the surface quality - machined on various cutting regimes. The cutting process parameters used in the end-milling process are: the cutting speed, the feed per tooth and the cutting depth. The obtained results of the surface roughness’s were measured longitudin…
Late Holocene Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Miller) woodlands in Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Western Mediterranean): Investigation of their distribut…
2021
The pioneering nature of Mediterranean pines and their phytosociological role have been largely discussed in relation to different agents (e.g., edaphic, climatic or anthropogenic). In this context, Aleppo pine is one of the most widespread pine species in the Mediterranean basin, as it is especially adapted to climatic constraints, such as drought and high seasonality, and has a high tolerance for salinity and strong coastal winds. It is also well adapted to regeneration after anthropogenic landscape disturbances, highlighting its important after-fire regeneration rates. In this sense, phytosociological studies conducted in Mediterranean landscapes have found that this species' wide distri…
Interpreting the Beaker phenomenon in Mediterranean France: an Iron Age analogy
2012
http://antiquity.ac.uk/ant/086/ant0860131.htm; International audience; The author offers a new descriptive explanation of the Beaker phenomenon, by focusing on Mediterranean France and making reference to the Greek influx in the same area 2000 years later. In the Iron Age, the influence began with an exploratory phase, and then went on to create new settlements and colonise new areas away from the coast. The Beaker analogy is striking, with phases of exploration and implantation and acculturation, but adjusted to include a final phase where Beaker practice was more independent. Comparing the numerous models put forward to explain it, the author shows that immigration and a cultural package …
Non-chemical weeds management in two Mediterranean culinary herbs
2009
Weeds management is one of the most relevant constraints to the cultivation of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants, especially when they’re cultivated with “organic” methods, that, according to EU regulations, do not allow the use of chemicals. A strong interest is therefore devoted to pointing out “alternative” (agronomical and physical) methods for weeds control. This work reports the results of a trial performed in 2003-04 and 2004-05 in order to evaluate the effects on Coriander (Coriandrum sativum L.) and Fennel (Foeniculum vulgare Mill.) of four non-chemical methods for weeds control: FS (False seeding), PD (Flaming), MZ (Mechanical weeding), SM (Hand weeding) compared with two untreated co…
Modelling dendro-anthracological parameters with dendrochronological reference datasets: interrogating the applicability of anthraco-typology to asse…
2020
International audience; Aleppo pine (Pinus halepensis Miller) is present in the palaeoenvironmental records of Mallorca (Balearic Islands, Western Mediterranean) since the Early Holocene. It is also documented in the archaeological charcoal analysis (aka anthracology) of early prehistoric sites, but it was especially exploited at certain sites during the Late Iron Age. However, different woodland exploitation strategies cannot be deciphered purely through the taxonomical identification of charcoal fragments, so it is difficult to assess if the presence of Aleppo pine in archaeological assemblages is due to specific social management strategies (branches and/or trunks exploitation). Anthraco…
