„Służba Boża Kościoła” Josefa Andreasa Jungmanna szerokie pojmowanie liturgii i jego krytyka
2018
W pierwszej części artykułu omówiono kontrowersyjne poglądy J.A.
Storia dell'Arte in Europa. Inghilterra
2014
Conflicts of Jurisdiction in Criminal Proceedings in Europe: Between Bis In Idem and Lis Pendens
2018
The purpose of this paper is to highlight the main issues concerning conflicts of jurisdiction within the EU, also from an italian perspective. The reason of conflicts of jurisdiction’s increase lies in the non-full application of the territoriality criterion, but especially in the transformation of criminality: the opening of borders and free movement of people, as well as the using of IT tools, can cause a fragmentation, among different countries, in the commission of crimes. The discussion on the overlap of proceedings for the same facts involving the same person revolves around various sources of law. Because of interpretative difficulties, many questions regarding conflicts of jurisdic…
Knowledge as a fictitious commodity: a Polanyian reading of the 'digital economy'
2020
Since the 2008 financial crisis, the attempts to use Karl Polanyi's framework to make sense of current developments have multiplied, producing a noticeable and lively debate. This debate centres on the notion of double movement put forward by the Hungarian thinker in his masterpiece – The Great Transformation. The paper is a contribution to this debate. The first part addresses a series of questions that make the interpretations of the double movement advanced so far not very compelling. To this end, a close reading of Polanyi's text, with the aim of dismantling and rearticulating its analytical structure, is carried out. The upshot is a dynamic and multistage picture of the double process …
Polanyi's double movement and the making of the ‘knowledge economy'
2019
In this chapter, we want to re-evaluate the heuristic role of Polanyi’s double movement by suggesting an alternative reading that could answer several criticisms that have been levelled against it. Moreover, we believe that this reading can give us greater insight into both the nature of the current crisis and its failure to unravel the neoliberal consensus.1 According to our reading, since the Speenhamland measures introduced in 1795 in Britain, faulty welfarist solutions have had the ability to undermine the political force of countermovements calling for protective measures while helping pro-market coalitions to periodically regenerate themselves. For us, this means that the future resol…
A physiologically active interpenetrating collagen network that supports growth and migration of epidermal keratinocytes: zinc-polyP nanoparticles in…
2020
The distinguished property of the physiological polymer, inorganic polyphosphate (polyP), is to act as a bio-intelligent material which releases stimulus-dependent metabolic energy to accelerate wound healing. This characteristic is based on the bio-imitating feature of polyP to be converted, upon exposure to peptide-containing body fluids, from stable amorphous nanoparticles to a physiologically active and energy-delivering coacervate phase. This property of polyP has been utilized to fabricate a wound mat consisting of compressed collagen supplemented with amorphous polyP particles, formed from the inorganic polyanion with an over-stoichiometric ratio of zinc ions. The proliferation and t…
Delayed healing of chronic leg ulcers can result from impaired trafficking of bone marrow-derived precursors of keratinocytes to the skin
2006
In this paper, it is hypothesized that in chronic wounds the process of homing of bone marrow-derived precursors of keratinocytes is disturbed, and that the interaction between cutaneous T-cell attracting chemokine (CTACK/CCL27) and soluble P-selectin glycoprotein ligand-1 (PSGL-1) can be the cause of this impairment. Several studies have revealed that bone marrow-derived cells (BMDC) trans-differentiate into various cellular lineages, and probably they participate also in healing of wounded skin. Recent studies have demonstrated that BMDC can engraft into the epidermis, and probably they do not engraft into epidermis as keratinocyte stem cells, but rather as transient amplifying cells. So,…
The cell adhesion domain of type XVII collagen promotes integrin-mediated cell spreading by a novel mechanism.
2001
Type XVII collagen (BP180) is a keratinocyte transmembrane protein that exists as the full-length protein in hemidesmosomes and as a 120-kDa shed ectodomain in the extracellular matrix. The largest collagenous domain of type XVII collagen, COL15, has been described previously as a cell adhesion domain (Tasanen, K., Eble, J. A., Aumailley, M., Schumann, H., Baetge, J, Tu, H., Bruckner, P., and Bruckner-Tuderman, L. (2000) J. Biol. Chem. 275, 3093-3099). In the present work, the integrin binding of triple helical, human recombinant COL15 was tested. Solid phase binding assays using recombinant integrin alpha(1)I, alpha(2)I, and alpha(10)I domains and cell spreading assays with alpha(1)beta(1)…
α-parvin is required for epidermal morphogenesis, hair follicle development and basal keratinocyte polarity
2020
Epidermal morphogenesis and hair follicle (HF) development depend on the ability of keratinocytes to adhere to the basement membrane (BM) and migrate along the extracellular matrix. Integrins are cell-matrix receptors that control keratinocyte adhesion and migration, and are recognized as major regulators of epidermal homeostasis. How integrins regulate the behavior of keratinocytes during epidermal morphogenesis remains insufficiently understood. Here, we show that alpha-parvin (alpha-pv), a focal adhesion protein that couples integrins to actin cytoskeleton, is indispensable for epidermal morphogenesis and HF development. Inactivation of the murine alpha-pv gene in basal keratinocytes res…
Different integrins mediate cell spreading, haptotaxis and lateral migration of HaCaT keratinocytes on fibronectin
2000
Collaborative role of various fibronectin-binding integrins (alpha5beta1, alphavbeta1 and alphavbeta6) as mediators of cell adhesion and migration on fibronectin was studied using cultured HaCaT keratinocytes. This cell line spontaneously expressed all three fibronectin-binding integrins. In addition, the expression of alphavbeta6 integrin was strongly and specifically upregulated by transforming growth factor-beta1 (TGFbeta1) whereas the amount of other integrins remained practically unchanged on the cell surface. Adhesion, spreading and motility of HaCaT keratinocytes on fibronectin were promoted by TGFbeta1. Based on antibody blocking experiments, both untreated and TGFbeta1-treated HaCa…
