Set-valued mappings in partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces
2014
Abstract In this paper, we provide coincidence point and fixed point theorems satisfying an implicit relation, which extends and generalizes the result of Gregori and Sapena, for set-valued mappings in complete partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces. Also we prove a fixed point theorem for set-valued mappings on complete partially ordered fuzzy metric spaces which generalizes results of Mihet and Tirado. MSC:54E40, 54E35, 54H25.
Relatively Orthocomplemented Skew Nearlattices in Rickart Rings
2015
AbstractA class of (right) Rickart rings, called strong, is isolated. In particular, every Rickart *-ring is strong. It is shown in the paper that every strong Rickart ring R admits a binary operation which turns R into a right normal band having an upper bound property with respect to its natural order ≤; such bands are known as right normal skew nearlattices. The poset (R, ≤) is relatively orthocomplemented; in particular, every initial segment in it is orthomodular. The order ≤ is actually a version of the so called right-star order. The one-sided star orders are well-investigated for matrices and recently have been generalized to bounded linear Hilbert space operators and to abstract Ric…
Perimeter symmetrization of some dynamic and stationary equations involving the Monge-Ampère operator
2017
We apply the perimeter symmetrization to a two-dimensional pseudo-parabolic dynamic problem associated to the Monge-Ampere operator as well as to the second order elliptic problem which arises after an implicit time discretization of the dynamical equation. Curiously, the dynamical problem corresponds to a third order operator but becomes a singular second order parabolic equation (involving the 3-Laplacian operator) in the class of radially symmetric convex functions. Using symmetrization techniques some quantitative comparison estimates and several qualitative properties of solutions are given.
Mappings of finite distortion: The Rickman-Picard theorem for mappings of finite lower order
2004
We show that an entire mappingf of finite distortion with finite lower order can omit at most finitely many points when the distortion function off is suitably controlled. The proof uses the recently established modulus inequalities for mappings of finite distortion [15] and comparison inequalities for the averages of the counting function. A similar technique also gives growth estimates for mappings having asymptotic values.
MAPPINGS OF FINITE DISTORTION: $L^n \log^{\alpha} L$ -INTEGRABILITY
2003
Recently, systematic studies of mappings of finite distortion have emerged as a key area in geometric function theory. The connection with deformations of elastic bodies and regularity of energy minimizers in the theory of nonlinear elasticity is perhaps a primary motivation for such studies, but there are many other applications as well, particularly in holomorphic dynamics and also in the study of first order degenerate elliptic systems, for instance the Beltrami systems we consider here.
Settlement strategies of the Dominicans in Palermo from the Middle Ages to the late Baroque
2014
This paper proposes some reflections on the settlement strategies pursued by the Dominicans in Palermo between the founding of the first conventual settlements, from the 13th century to the transformations of the 17th and 18th centuries as a result of expansion and renovation projects imposed by the Counter-Reformation. The research analyzes for the first time the dialogue between the architecture promoted by the Dominicans and the becoming of the city over the centuries through the continuous and articulated design traces and construction relating to different locations pertaining to enforcement, male (San Domenico and Santa Cita) and female (Santa Caterina and Santa Maria della Pietà), pl…
Monitoring of Plasma Concentrations of Psychotropic Drugs in Pharmacovigilance
2015
The primary aims of pharmacovigilance are supervision and prevention of medication-related problems under everyday conditions. Pharmacovigilance is an indication for monitoring plasma concentrations, i.e. conducting therapeutic drug monitoring (TDM). Using TDM, it can be clarified if observed unwanted drug effects may be attributed to abnormally high or low drug concentrations. Utmost benefits from TDM are obtained for pharmacovigilance when the method is adequately integrated into the clinical treatment process. How to do this is described in consensus guidelines for TDM in psychiatry. During the last 20 years, TDM was very successful for detection of multiple pharmacokinetic drug-drug int…
A state-space approach to dynamic stability of fractional-order systems: The extended Routh-Hurwitz theorem
2017
This paper considers the case of Beck’s column, a linear elastic cantilever column subjected to a constant follower load at its free end. The column foundation is modeled as bed of hereditary elements that react with a vertical force distributed along the beam axis. The reacting supports are modeled with spring-pot element that is a two parameters mechanical elements (C; ) with an intermediate behavior between spring and dashpot. The constitutive equation of the spring-pot involves the so called fractional order derivatives and dynamic stability problem in presence of fractional-order operator must be faced for the Beck’s column. In this study , the authors generalize Routh-Hurwitz theorem …
Determinants of Sub-Sovereign Government Ratings In Europe
2017
The aim of this paper is to identify the determinantsof the rating assigned to sub-sovereignentities in Germany, Austria, Belgium, France,Italy and Spain, using a total of 92 territorial entitiesfor the 1989-2012 period. Multinomial orderedprobit estimation models were estimatedfor each specifi cation and agency. We conclude that the country’s rating is oneof the most important determinants of regionalgovernment’s ratings with a positive infl uence(as expected), and that the country debt/GDPratio is a stronger determinant for regions thantheir own indebtedness with a negative sign.Other relevant variables are population growthrate, unemployment rate, elderly people weight, regional public exp…
Tratamiento jurídico de una enfermedad social. Los trastornos de la conducta alimentaria (TCA)
2018
The boundless increase of people suffering from an Eating Disorder (ED), makes necessary to develop measures related to other factors, in order to overcome the ones characterized of being strictly sanitary. The disease has become a social and cultural phenomenon. The exaltation of the cult to the body, with the stereotype of the extreme thinness linked with beauty and success is causing that, particularly young people, try to achieve an image which, in many cases, can jeopardize their health, that is the reason why the rearrangement of values has become an objective of paramount importance. Therefore, the fight against this social illness requires legal actions in order to prevent it from g…
