Zbiór muzykaliów z kaplicy szpitalnej w Bystrzycy Kłodzkiej

Wiosną 2016 roku na emporze organowej kaplicy szpitalnej w Bystrzycy Kłodzkiej odnaleziono zbiór przedwojennych muzykaliów. Liczy on 72 pozycje, w tym: kilkadziesiąt pieśni, offertoriów, hymnów, utworów organowych oraz 17 mszy. Większość to opracowania na dwu- lub trzygłosowy chór żeński. Pozwala to przypuszczać, że utwory wykonywane były przez siostry franciszkanki szpitalne, prowadzące od 1866 roku zakład leczniczy. Omawiana kolekcja nie należy do większych czy wartościowszych. Dostarcza jednak cennych informacji o repertuarze muzycznym kaplicy szpitalnej. Body size at birth and age-related macular degeneration in old age

Purpose To study associations between body size at birth and age-related macular degeneration (AMD) in old age. Methods The study sample consists of 1497 community-dwelling individuals (56.1% women) aged 67-89 years with birth data and retinal data collected twice in old age 5 years apart. Birth data (weight, length, birth order) were extracted from original birth records. Digital retinal photographs were graded to determine AMD status. Data on covariates were collected at the baseline physical examination in old age. The MLE of the mean of the exponential distribution based on grouped data is stochastically increasing

This paper refers to the problem stated by Balakrishnan et al. (2002). They proved that maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) of the exponential mean obtained from grouped samples is stochastically ordered provided that the sequence of the successive distances between inspection times is decreasing. In this paper we show that the assumption of monotonicity of the sequence of distances can be dropped.
Features of W production in p-p, p-Pb and Pb-Pb collisions

We consider the production of inclusive W bosons in variety of high-energy hadronic collisions: p--p, p--$\overline{\rm p}$, p--Pb, and Pb--Pb. In particular, we focus on the resulting distributions of charged leptons from W decay that can be measured with relatively low backgrounds. The leading-order expressions within the collinearly factorized QCD indicate that the center-of-mass energy dependence at forward/backward rapidities should be well approximated by a simple power law. The scaling exponent is related to the small-$x$ behaviour of the quark distributions, which is largely driven by the parton evolution.
