Ecological variation between marginal and central populations of Potamogeton polygonifolius, a rare and endangered species in Central Europe

Abstract The present study is focused on Potamogeton polygonifolius – the species considered to be endangered in Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Switzerland. Field studies were carried out in Lower Silesia and Lusatia in southwestern Poland in order to verify the present state of the marginal populations of P. polygonifolius, to determine the habitat preferences of the species in the study area, to compare the ecological data between marginal and central populations and finally to recognise the factors constraining the easternmost limit of the P. polygonifolius. The first two cases of naturalization of <i>Acacia cyclops</i> are reported for Italy. Young trees were observed growing in the wild some 15 years ago on Linosa (Pelagie Islands, Strait of Sicily). A decade later, this alien plant should no longer be considered as a casual, since a very intensive process of self-sown regeneration has been observed in some plantations on Lampedusa, the major island of the same Archipelago. The main objective of this work was to study the motivational antecedents of the intention to drop out of youth sport from the postulates of the achievement goal theory (AGT), placing special emphasis on the motivational climate that coaches create in their teams. Analgesic of the past: spongia soporifera – In order to improve the knowledge of plants used in the past as analgesic and anaesthetic, the authors refer in the current contribute to results coming from a bibliographical research carried out on plants which constituted the ingredients of “spongia soporifera”, a preparation made of a see sponge together with concentrated decoctions of medical plants. The authors analyse the species used for the preparation of “spongia soporifera”, investigating them in historical, botanic, chemical, pharmacological and toxicological aspects.

The purpose of this paper is to explain the role that routines play in achieving sustainable organisational ambidexterity in information technology (IT) firms. Our exploratory analysis of four case studies reveals the key importance of routines in setting the context for sustainable ambidexterity. Companies build up contextual ambidexterity through routines derived from normalization of processes, normalization of skills, and normalization of results. Tansy (Tanacetum vulgare L.) grows in moderate area of the northern hemisphere, in Poland – its range covers the whole country. It appears on the farm wastelands, by roadsides, on enbankments, river banks, forest lips and in open spaces.
