Molecular confinement is known to lead to acceleration of molecular dynamics along with surface interaction. Nature employs confinement in molecularly crowded, heterogeneous and, specialized femtoliter (fL) compartments inside living cells for spontaneously achieving higher reaction efficiency and spatial-programming of composite, multi-step biochemical processes. Enhanced Thin-Film Transistor Performance by Combining 13,6-N-Sulfinylacetamidopentacene with Printed PEDOT:PSS Electrodes

Bottom-contact/bottom-gate organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) are fabricated using a soluble pentacene precursor (13,6-N-sulfinylacetamidopentacene; SAP) and inkjet printed PEDOT:PSS electrodes on bare SiO2 dielectrics. Saturation mobility, Ion/Ioff ratio, and threshold voltage parameters, respectively, of 0.27 cm2 V−1 s−1, 105, and −4.25 V were measured under ambient conditions after the thermal conversion of SAP to pentacene in 100 μm long channel OTFT devices. The results obtained by the above solution approach are comparable to that of vapor-phase grown pentacene-based OTFTs with photolithographic gold contacts and organic buffer layers and/or inorganic injection layers. Water Fluxes in Polymeric Membranes for Desalination via Membrane Distillation

Membrane distillation is an emerging technique for seawater desalination. Hydrophobic polymeric membranes are used to separate the solute‐free water vapour from the hot solution. Vapour fluxes of commercial polymeric membranes were measured in various conditions, i.e. natural and forced convection and vacuum. Vapour fluxes were also predicted with models and compared with experimentals. Higher fluxes were recorded in vacuum conditions.
Nano-sized I12L6 Molecular Capsules Based on the [N⋅⋅⋅I+⋅⋅⋅N] Halogen Bond

Summary Self-assembly of pre-organized subunits with a concave overall shape is an effective strategy for the synthesis of supramolecular capsules. We report the synthesis of a cavitand-based hexameric capsule held together solely by 12 robust [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] halogen bonds and its characterization in solution and in the gas phase via 1 H NMR spectroscopy, diffusion-ordered nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (DOSY), and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry. The [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] halogen-bonded hexameric capsule was efficiently synthesized from the isolobal metallosupramolecular Ag + capsule by application of the [N⋅⋅⋅Ag + ⋅⋅⋅N] → [N⋅⋅⋅I + ⋅⋅⋅N] cation-exchange reaction.

La inscripción en el registro consular no es obligatoria para los emigrantes españoles. Conlleva, no obstante, una serie de ventajas que propician, antes o después, su realización. En este artículo se identifican y analizan los principales motivos que animan a ello a los emigrantes españoles. Se toman como base fundamental los datos e informaciones obtenidos a través de una encuesta cuantitativa y entrevistas semiestructuradas realizadas a más de cuatro mil españoles residentes en el extranjero. Le trincee drenanti profonde rappresentano uno dei metodi più efficaci per la mitigazione del rischio da frana, in pendii con falda idrica. Esse sono realizzate mediante pannelli o pali secanti. Il riempimento è costituito di calcestruzzo poroso o materiale granulare. Se le trincee sono adeguatamente “innestate” nel terreno stabile e il materiale di riempimento ha sufficiente resistenza e rigidezza come il calcestruzzo poroso, si ha ulteriore in-cremento di resistenza a taglio per effetto shear keys, oltre a quello derivante dalla riduzione delle pressioni in-terstiziali.
