Phase separation of polymer blends in solution: A case study

Abstract The phase behavior and phase separation features of the quaternary system poly- l -lactide (PLLA)/poly-rac-lactide (PLA)/dioxane/water were investigated. Experiments were performed with fixed total polymer concentration of 6 wt%, by varying the PLLA/PLA weight ratio. Blend weight compositions examined were 100/0, 80/20, 50/50, 20/80 and 0/100, at fixed dioxane/water weight ratio (87/13). Cloud point measurements reported that the demixing temperatures of blends are close to PLLA in the same mixed solvent, in line with the calculated spinodals. Diplomdarba tēma ir “Papildinātās realitātes spēles mobilām ierīcēm dizaina izstrādes principi”. Darba teorētiskajā daļā tiek apskatīts videospēļu rašanās un dizaina attīstība, spēļu pasaules dizaina veidošanas principi (spēles elementi, mehānika, krāsu izvēle), populārākie un mūsdienu tehnoloģijas, un lietotāja saskarne. Empīriskajā daļā tiek izpētīts spēles “Čūska” dizaina evolūcija, sakot no 1970. gadā veidotiem spēlēm līdz mūsdienīgām. Dual-polarization-pump CW laser operation in Nd3+:LiNbO3 channel waveguides fabricated by reverse proton exchange

Abstract In this work, continuous-wave laser action at 1084.5 nm at room temperature in LiNbO 3 :Nd 3+ channel waveguides, fabricated by reverse proton exchange (RPE), is reported. The sample was pumped at λ  = 808 nm in either σ or π-polarized configurations, TE- and TM-pumping schemes, being the laser emission π-polarized at all power levels. The laser characteristics, as function of the pumping scheme (TE or TM), have been obtained. In both cases, the laser emission was stable, without any reduction in the output power even under continuous pump operation at maximum power at room temperature, indicating high resistance to photorefractive damage.

Highly selective detection of Epinephrine at oxidized Single-Wall Carbon Nanohorns modified Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs)

Oxidized Single-Wall Carbon Nanohorns (o-SWCNHs) were used, for the first time, to assemble chemically modified Screen Printed Electrodes (SPEs) selective towards the electrochemical detection of Epinephrine (Ep), in the presence of Serotonine-5-HT (S-5HT), Dopamine (DA), Nor-Epineprhine (Nor-Ep), Ascorbic Acid (AA), Acetaminophen (Ac) and Uric Acid (UA). The Ep neurotransmitter was detected by using Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV), in a wide linear range of concentration (2-2500 μM) with high sensitivity (55.77 A M(-1) cm(-2)), very good reproducibility (RSD% ranging from 2 to 10 for different SPEs), short response time for each measurement (only 2s) and low detection of limit (LOD=0.…
