Schoolteachers could enhance learning in social science courses by using teaching tools that favour a methodological approach focused on the topics' basic structure rather than on facts. An innovative system dynamics social-based ILE built with a social constructivist approach is presented here. The pedagogical futures of this ILE are then analysed. The effective impact of different instructional approaches inspired by social-based ILEs on student learning outcomes is also discussed. Healthy lifestyles and academic success in a sample of Italian university students

Scientific literature has shown that healthy lifestyles are implicated both in the risk reduction of several disorders and in the improvement of cognitive functions. The present study evaluated the association between lifestyle behaviors and academic performance in university students from twelve different degree courses at the University of Palermo, Italy. It was hypothesized that healthy lifestyles, measured as the practice of a good diet, satisfying quality of sleep, low-stress levels, perceived social support, abstention from the use of illegal drugs, non-problematic Internet use, and regular sports habits, were associated to academic success. Health and school profile of minors receiving protection measures and social programs

Se pretende determinar la incidencia de problemas de salud y escolares en menores receptores de Prestaciones Económicas Regladas y de Prestaciones Económicas por Protección. Se valoraron 174 menores de P.E.R. y 123 de P.E.P. Los resultados muestran que una cuarta parte de los menores tienen problemas de salud física y/o mental. Su escolarización plantea problemas de absentismo, aprovechamiento académico, adaptación social y carencias de material escolar.
