Satyra na Augusta Zaleskiego, czyli o sporze Wojciecha Wasiutyńskiego z "Syreną" paryską

In 1949 the Parisian weekly Syrena published an anonymous satire on President August Zaleski. As it later turned out, it was written by Wojciech Wasiutyński, a well-known journalist and activist of the Stronnictwo Narodowe (National Party). Wasiutyński was not informed about the decision to publish his text and was outraged, demanding compensation. The editorial team explained that the anonymous copies of the satire had circulated among Polish immigrants. The issue echoed a far more significant debate concerning the office of the President of Poland in exile.

Przeanalizowano historyczne zmiany stężeń metali ciężkich: Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd i Pb zakumulowanych w próbkach mchów pobieranych do badań w Polsce, na terenach leśnych Beskidów i Karkonoszy oraz w lasach północno-wschodniej części kraju, w odniesieniu do mało zanieczyszczonych obszarów Archipelagu Svalbard, którego największą wyspą jest Spitsbergen. Wyniki badań przedstawianych w literaturze uzupełniono wynikami badań własnych, prowadzonych w 2014 r. Most research on biochar has focused either on the mechanistic or the biophysical aspects, and there has been relatively little research into the social applicability and acceptance of biochar as a soil enhancer in agriculture. However, whether to adopt biochar in their practice is ultimately the farmers’ decision, and their willingness to do so is crucial. Here, we show the producer’s perspective on adopting biochar, using Polish farmers as a case study. Poland is an interesting case study because biochar has only recently attracted the attention of researchers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders there. The beetles of the Suwalski Landscape Park (NE Poland) were studied between the years 2006−2013. The park covers an area of 6338 ha. Various field methods were used including sweep netting, dip netting, catching by hand, investigation of potential foraging sites of saproxylic beetles, rearing of cambio- and xylophagous larvae from inhabited material and attracting to artificial light sources. On the basis of our field studies and literature data, 1052 beetle species from 70 families were recorded, of which 715 have not been previously reported in the Park. Pentecostalism is the most evolving Christian movement in the contemporary world. Some churches of this tradition have been engaged in a dialogue with the Catholic Church sińce 1972. Polish followers of this religious movement are largely centred around the Pentecostal Church in Poland. This work shows selected doctrines of this Church and the Catholic Church regarding the issue of the institution of marriage. 40 years have passed. Ruby jubilee of the Dipterological Section of the Polish Entomological Society. The illustrated notes on the Dipterological Section of the Polish Entomological Society are presented. The idea of establishing the Section emerged in 1980 in Cracow, formally implemented a year later. Each year members meet at a scientific symposium in various places of Poland. The group releases international journal Dipteron, and in 2013 proclaimed World Dipteran Day.

The paper presents the vegetation types with invasive Senecio inaequidens along the road verges in the Opole Silesia. The large population of this South-African species was located in the second half of June 2018 in the green belt (central reservation) along the A4 motorway (motorway section Brzeg – Opole).
