Representative, legislative and deliberative assemblies are commonly called parliaments. The three types of assemblies share many procedures and practices, and the Inter-Parliamentary Union includes all three types among its members. Nonetheless, as ideal types in the Weberian sense, the three kinds of political assemblies do differ in their modes of acting and thinking politically. Eiropas Savienība ir daudzveidīga dalībvalstu grupa, un dzimumu līdztiesības attīstība kopš 1950. gada vēl nav pastāvīga un lineāra, kas savukārt ietekmē arī Eiropas Parlamenta dzimumu līdzsvaru. Pētījumā ir novērtēts sieviešu īpatsvars parlamentos, pamatojoties uz publiski pieejamiem datiem, ko apkopojuši galvenokārt Eurostat, Pasaules ekonomikas forums, Eiropas Dzimumu līdztiesības institūts un Starptautiskais demokrātijas un vēlēšanu palīdzības institūts. Pētījumā tika konstatēts, ka neatkarīgi no izmantotā dzimuma kvotu veida un īstenošanas perioda, dzimumu līdzsvara politikā bija dažādi rezultāti, tāpēc katrai valstij bija nepieciešama pielāgota pieeja.

The research of my thesis has been focused on the 1935 diplomatic conference at Stresa, in Northern Italy and observe how this meeting between the representatives of the United Kingdom, France and Italy shaped the diplomatic relations in interwar Europe. The goal of this meeting was to formulate a common policy against Germany in reaction to the founding of the German air force. This action, which reneged on the 1919 treaty of Versailles caused great worry in Europe.
