A series of copolymers are synthesized by repetitive Diels-Alder polyaddition reaction of bifunctional cyclohepta-1,3,5-trienes with bifunctional 1,2,4-triazoline-3,5-diones. The copolymers of different bistriazolinediones with a bisdiene, or of different biscycloheptatrienes with a dienophile, have good solubility in CH2Cl2 and CHCl3, while the homopolymers are poorly soluble. The copolymers were characterized by standard analytical techniques to test the structural regularity of these systems. Photoactive Hybrid Materials based on Conjugated Porous Polymers and Inorganic Nanoparticles

This review explores the current state‐of‐the‐art for functional photoactive hybrids containing inorganic nanoparticles (magnetic and metal) and conjugated organic porous polymers (CPPs). Albeit new in the field, with the first hybrid material of this kind reported in 2012, those materials have gained increasing interest in applications such as sensing, heterogeneous catalysis, photocatalysis, and lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs). Complexes of star-shaped cationic polyelectrolytes with anionic liposomes: Towards multi-liposomal assemblies with controllable stability

Abstract Complexes were formed via the electrostatic interaction between 30–50 nm anionic liposomes and a star-shaped polyelectrolyte, poly{[2-(methacryloyloxy)ethyl]trimethyl ammonium iodide}, having cationic arms that radiate from a silicon-based central core. Synthesis and thermoresponsive properties of four arm, amphiphilic poly(tert-butyl-glycidylether)-block-polyglycidol stars

Abstract A series of four arm stars with copolymer arms composed of poly(tert-butyl-glycidylether)-b-polyglycidol were prepared using a multi-step process based on anionic ring-opening polymerization. Control of the length of the arms and the number of functional (hydroxyl) reactive groups was achieved by anionic polymerization. Stars with molar masses up to 12200 g/mol were prepared. The amphiphilic character of the star structure was varied using different polyglycidol block lengths. Functionalization of P3HT with Various Mono- and Multidentate Anchor Groups

Due to its favorable optoelectronic properties and the accessibility via Grignard metathesis (GRIM) polymerization, poly(3-hexylthiophene) (P3HT) is one of the most applied conjugated polymers. The ‘living' nature of GRIM polymerization enables the modification of the polymer and the installation of desired properties. Electrical Behaviour of Heterobimetallic [MM′(EtCS2)4] (MM′=NiPd, NiPt, PdPt) and MM′X-Chain Polymers [PtM(EtCS2)4I] (M=Ni, Pd)

Herein, we report the isolation of new heterobimetallic complexes [Ni0.6Pd1.4ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (1), [NiPtACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (2) and [Pd0.4Pt1.6ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4] (3), which were constructed by using transmetallation procedures. Subsequent oxidation with iodine furnished the MM'X monodimensional chains [Ni0.6Pt1.4ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4I] (4) and [Ni0.1Pd0.3Pt1.6ACHTUNGTRENUNG(EtCS2)4I] (5). Natural compounds as light stabilizer for a starch-based biodegradable polymer

Abstract The photooxidation behavior of a commercial starch-based biodegradable polymer, i.e., new generation Mater-Bi, loaded with natural stabilizers was investigated in consideration for outdoor agricultural applications. The photooxidation behavior of the biodegradable films was monitored mainly by mechanical tests and spectroscopic analysis. Abstract Reaction of the zirconium tetrachloride with one equivalent of the sodium salt of the diamine bis (phenolate) ligand, L1H2 (Me2NCH2CH2N-(CH2-2-OH-3,5-tBu-C6H2)2) or L2H2 (Me2NCH2CH2N-(CH2-2-OH-3,5-tBu-C6H2)(CH2-2-OH-C6H4)) in the presence of air led to formation of [Lig1ZrCl]2(μ-O) and [Lig2ZrCl]2(μ-O), respectively.
