BACKGROUND AND AIM: The Authors report the results of their experience on polypoids lesions of the stomach and on endoscopic polypectomies. PATIENTS AND METHODS: A study on 2000 OGD (oesophagogastroduodenoscopy) has been carried out on 95 patients with polypoid lesions. The authors have analysed the associations existing between histological type and symptomatology and localisation of the lesion and the status of the Helicobacter pylori and the risk of cancerization. Background: Chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) affects around 60% of patients with severe eosinophilic asthma (SEA). Benralizumab was recently approved for SEA add-on treatment. Objective: To assess the real-world effectiveness of benralizumab in SEA with or without CRSwNP. Methods: We conducted a multicenter observational study, including patients with SEA treated with benralizumab for 24 weeks in 12 Italian specialized facilities. Background A number of patients with chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP) are resistant to oral corticosteroids. Mucin 1 (MUC1) shows anti-inflammatory properties, and its cytoplasmic tail (CT) interacts with transcription factors, facilitating their nuclear translocation. Because glucocorticoid receptor (GR) nuclear translocation is key to the anti-inflammatory effect of corticosteroids, we hypothesized that MUC1 is involved in the effectiveness of corticosteroids. BACKGROUND The development of nasal polyps might be influenced by different factors such as mucosal inflammation. Infiltration with eosinophils is a common finding, although in largely different quantitis. PATIENTS AND METHODS We investigated 58 patients suffering from nasal polyps who were assigned for endonasal sinus surgery based on endoscopic and CT findings. Out of these patients, 52% have already had sinus surgery and had recurrent polyps. All patients were subjected to both, allergy testing and a functional in vitro test for aspirin intolerance. These symptoms should never be ignored or treated by prescription of hemorrhoid suppositories, antispasmodics, analgesics, or laxatives.

INTRODUCTION Capsule endoscopy has proven its utility in diagnosing villous atrophy and lymphoma in patients with celiac disease.
