Adaptation and Measurement Invariance by Gender of the Flourishing Scale in a Colombian Sample

There is increasing interest in the study of flourishing as an indicator of subjective wellbeing. The objective herein was to adapt and study the psychometric properties of Diener’s Flourishing Scale (FS) among the Colombian population. Accordingly, a cross-sectional study was conducted with a non-probability sample of 1255 Colombian adults. The scale’s structure, invariance by gender, and convergent and concurrent validity were studied from a confirmatory perspective using structural equation models. Bakalaura darbs uzrakstīts angļu valodā uz 30 lappusēm. Tas satur 18 attēlus, 8 tabulas un atsauces uz 23 literatūras avotiem. Pētījuma mērķis bija novērtēt tādu faktoru kā smēķēšana un kontaktlēcu lietošana ietekme uz radzenes endotēlija fizioloģiju. Metode: 45 pacientiem (vecumā no 29 līdz 58 gadiem) veikta aptauja par smēķēšanas ieradumiem un kontaktlēcu lietošanu. Ikvienam tika novērtēts endotēlijs, trīs reizes mērot ar Takagi 700GL spraugas lampu un EndoKer programmu. Rezultāti: Darbā netika atrasta nozīmīga korelācija starp dzimumu un vecuma grupām attiecībā uz kādu no ietekmes faktoriem. This present work undertakes the study of a novel organic–inorganic hybrid material, which has been obtained successfully by an acid-base reaction at room temperature and structurally studied by the single crystal X-ray diffraction method. Abstract To study the effects of short-term fluctuation of nitrate concentrations on the nitrate-reducing community, repacked soil cores were amended with 0, 100 and 300 μ g NO 3 - ‐ N g - 1 soil and incubated for 3, 7 and 14 days, respectively. The nitrate reductase activity was determined in a laboratory-based enzyme assay. In parallel, the community structure of nitrate-reducing microorganisms was characterised by RFLP-PCR using the functional gene narG , which encodes the catalytic site of the membrane-bound nitrate reductase. Abstract Molecular monitoring of bacterial communities can explain and predict the stability of bioprocesses in varying physicochemical conditions. To study methanol-fed denitrification biofilters of municipal wastewater treatment plants, bacterial communities of two full-scale biofilters were compared through fingerprinting and sequencing of the 16S rRNA genes. Additionally, 16S rRNA gene fingerprinting was used for 10-week temporal monitoring of the bacterial community in one of the biofilters. Despite high performance, municipal wastewater treatment plants (WWTPs) still discharge significant amounts of organic material and nitrogen and even microbes into the receiving water bodies, altering physico-chemical conditions and microbial functions. In this study, we examined how nitrified wastewater affects the microbiology of boreal lake sediments. This study examines under-18 marriage in urban Tanzania from an ethnographic perspective. Due to poverty and high unemployment, some girls aspire to early marriage. Two pathways to early marriage are identified: first, poverty and gendered economic disparities motivate girls to begin transactional sexual activity at an early age, leading parents to favour early marriage as a risk-reduction measure. Second, educational opportunities are often closed off to girls before marriage, as a result of which early marriage becomes the only culturally approved pathway that allows girls to present themselves to others as a self-sufficient agent.
