Learning strategies, decision-making styles and conscious use of technologies in initial teacher education

2018

The aim of this research is to develop a toolkit enabling to observe transversal skills of future teachers. The research was carried out with 236 students attending the Educational Technologies course at the Primary Education program at Palermo University, during academic year 2017/2018. The research hypothesis is that the knowledge of the initial situation of students, as much objective as possible, requires triangulation, comparison and integration of the information collected with three self-assessment tools. An Italian toolkit is now available. It allows to detect the following, at the beginning of the university course: (i) how students integrate ICT with disciplinary contents and teac…

Proposal of a Modelling of the Innovation Process in an International Manufacturing Company

2017

Nowadays, to cope with the competition, and to ensure the durability of their activities, companies have to be able to innovate. Manufacturing companies operating in a B2B market often perceive innovation as a technological result. However, innovation is often more characterized as a process. The needs of the users, and not only the technology, can achieve innovation. In this context, our paper intends to determine how to involve better the users in the innovation process of an international manufacturing company, which is, according to us, representative of the current manufacturing companies. The aim of our research paper is to help manufacturing companies to manage innovation led by user…

Innovation development to new business in incumbent firms : a case study on the pharmaceutical companies in Finland

2016

This thesis examines new business development in incumbent firms in market environment that is changing faster than ever before. The framework of this study, model to the new business development, is created at the literature re-view part of this study and it is tested for incumbent pharmaceutical companies in Finland. Model enables to study differences between traditional and new businesses in incumbent firms, innovation process for new business develop-ment and business ecosystem structure of incumbent firm. The goal of the re-search is to identify ways of incumbent firms to develop new business to be able to compete against more agile companies. Technological development has enabled new …

Inkluzja podejścia projektowego w proces tworzenia innowacji

2016

The project-driven approach becomes more and more important way in achie- ving operational and strategic objectives and the manner of the general improvement of the enterprise performance, including the field of innovation management. The paper pre- sents the idea of "innovation project machine". The aim of the paper is to verify the pro- ject-driven approach in the process of creating innovative solutions. The arguments pre- sented in the article show that these two ways of working can be combined into an "inno- vation project machine" The „innovation project machine" can capture new ideas more ef- fectively and execute innovation, inspired by agile project management and with learning for…

Critical Experiences During the Implementation of a Self-tracking Technology

2016

Emerging technologies have brought several new ways to track, measure and evaluate own activity. Well-being, nutrition, physical training, mood, and sleep are a few of the various measures that can be self-tracked by different technological solutions. At the same time, people are becoming more interested in themselves and their own well-being, and constant tracking of own activities is getting more and more popular both on individual level as well as in general healthcare. This study examines critical experiences that occur during the implementation phase of the innovation-decision process and their influence to adopting or rejecting a self-tracking technology. The study is qualitative in n…

Transport i logistyka jako potencjalne smart specialisations województwa opolskiego – próba wstępnej oceny

2019

The article presents the preliminary assessment of the activities undertaken in the Opolskie Voivodeship in connection with the implementation of the regional innovation strategy for 2014–2018. In particular, attention is focused on issues related to the methodology of identifying the so-called “smart specializations” and their practical dimension. The subject of the analysis are issues related to transport and logistics, because these areas were highlighted in both strategies – of regional development and the innovation strategy. Moreover, that sustainable transport for the mobility of residents is one of the 10 priority axes of the Opolskie Voivodeship’s Operational Program. The n + 3 rul…

Anomalous and normal Hall effect in hydrogenated amorphous Si prepared by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition

2010

The double sign anomaly of the Hall coefficient has been studied in p -doped and n -doped hydrogenated amorphous silicon grown by plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition and annealed up to 500 °C. Dark conductivity as a function of temperature has been measured, pointing out a conduction mechanism mostly through the extended states. Anomalous Hall effect has been observed only in the as-deposited n -doped film, disappearing after annealing at 500 °C, while p -doped samples exhibit normal Hall effect. When Hall anomaly is present, a larger optical band gap and a greater Raman peak associated with Si-H bond are measured in comparison with the cases of normal Hall effect. The Hall anomaly wi…

Effects of NH3 and alkaline metals on the formation of particulate sulfate and nitrate in wintertime Beijing

2020

Sulfate and nitrate from secondary reactions remain as the most abundant inorganic species in atmospheric particle matter (PM). Their formation is initiated by oxidation (either in gas phase or particle phase), followed by neutralization reaction primarily by NH3, or by other alkaline species such as alkaline metal ions if available. The different roles of NH3 and metal ions in neutralizing H2SO4 or HNO3, however, are seldom investigated. Here we conducted semi-continuous measurements of SO4 2−, NO3 −, NH4 +, and their gaseous precursors, as well as alkaline metal ions (Na+, K+, Ca2+, and Mg2+) in wintertime Beijing. Analysis of aerosol acidity (estimated from a thermodynamic model) indicat…

Sense of coherence and health among home-dwelling older people.

2010

Sense of coherence (SOC) is important for maintaining health. The aim of this study was to investigate if the SOC experience among home-dwelling physically active older people differs from that of hospital patients with the same age and sex. Data were collected with questionnaires and structured interviews containing Antonovsky’s SOC scale in an age- and sex-matched study group (n=160). Non-parametric statistical analyses were performed. No differences were found in SOC between home-dwelling individuals and patients. Ninety-five percent of the home-dwelling individuals perceived themselves as being in good health and 42.5% among the patients (p<0.001). SOC and disease were predictors fo…

Micro-scale post-fire surface cover changes monitored using high spatial resolution photography in a semiarid environment: A useful tool in the study…

2012

[ES] Although post-fire soil erosion has been studied, little attention has been paid to changes in soil surface cover following fires, despite this being a key factor in understanding the water and sediment yield. This study, at Peñaflor (Spain), investigated the effect of fire on soil erosion using data from soil erosion plots and high spatial resolution photography (HSRP). Measurements were made from October 2003 to October 2005 in a control plot and a plot experimentally exposed to a fire in October 2004. Ground cover components were identified, including vegetation, bare soil, stones, charcoal and ash. Runoff and sediment concentrations were low because of the absence of intense rainfa…
