Pareto frontier in economic-statistical design of a dynamic c chart

2015

The present paper proposes an economic-statistical multi-objective design procedure for a dynamic c control chart. In detail, a mixed integer non-linear constrained mathematical model is formulated to solve the treated problem, whereas the Pareto frontier is described by the ε-constraint method. To show the employment of the proposed procedure a numerical case is solved and the related considerations are given.

2014

The Influence of Hedonic and Utilitarian Motivators on Likelihood to Buy a Tourism Package

2013

To fully understand the pattern of choice, it is important that any explanation of consumer behavior to be accompanied by a complete understanding of the interplay between a consumer’s functional goals and experiential preferences within the decision context. Consumer researchers have increasingly begun to investigate consumer choice based on distinctions that involve the purchase and consumption of goods for pleasure versus for more utilitarian and instrumental purposes. Consumers are often faced with these types of choices between hedonic and utilitarian alternatives that are at least partly driven by emotional desires rather than cold cognitive deliberations. This research approaches fac…

Sensors based on MultiSpectral Filter Arrays

2014

International audience; Spectral Filter arrays (SFA) is an emerging technology for multispectral image acquisition. SFAs make possible the use of a compact multispectral sensor to acquire still images or video. One part of this talk will present and compare typical multispectral and color image acquisition systems in order to clearly identify differences underlying SFA technologies. The other part of this talk will show the difficulties and advances that we have made at the University of Bourgogne in the building of such sensors from the design of filters to data processing, such as demosaicing.

Sexual dimorphism in the vertebral wedging of the human lumbar vertebrae and its importance as a comparative framework for understanding the wedging …

2020

Lumbar lordosis is a key element of the upright posture, being interpreted as a consequence of bipedal locomotion. There is consensus that the generic modern human pattern of metameric vertebral body wedging is sexually dimorphic in modern humans. However, recently published studies have compared this pattern with other hominins, such as Neanderthals. These tried to establish whether the (male) Neanderthal lumbar vertebrae express a pattern that falls within or outside the range of modern human males. In the present study, data collected by 3D landmarks of the lumbar vertebrae of modern humans from different geographic regions and Neanderthals (Ntotal = 505 individual vertebrae) are used to…

The migration of femoral components after total hip replacement surgery: accuracy and precision of software-aided measurements.

2003

To assess the accuracy and precision of a software-aided system to measure migration of femoral components after total hip replacement (THR) on digitised radiographs.Subsidence and varus-valgus tilt of THR stems within the femur were measured on digitised anteroposterior pelvic radiographs. The measuring software (UMA, GEMED, Germany) relies on bony landmarks and comparability parameters of two consecutive radiographs. Its accuracy and precision were calculated by comparing it with the gold standard in migration measurements, radiostereometric analysis (RSA). Radiographs and corresponding RSA measurements were performed in 60 patients (38-69 years) following cementless THR surgery. The UMA s…

Posterior perilunate carpal dislocation associated with a multifragmentary distal radius fracture.

2009

Summary Dorsal perilunate wrist dislocations are rare. Associated carpal bones or radial styloid process fractures can occur and be included in the current classifications. The authors report an unusual association of dorsal perilunate wrist dislocation with a multifragmentary distal radius fracture. Such traumatic entity has never been previously described. Poor functional outcome may justify the inclusion of associated complex forearm bone fractures in wrist dislocation classifications.

H2-M polymorphism in mice susceptible to collagen-induced arthritis involves the peptide binding groove.

1996

The ability to develop type II collagen (CII)-induced arthritis (CIA) in mice is associated with the major histocompatibilityI-A gene and with as yet poorly defined regulatory molecules of the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class II antigen processing and presentation pathway. H2-M molecules are thought to be involved in the loading of antigenic peptides into the MHC class II binding cleft. We sequencedH2-Ma, H2-Mb1, andH2-Mb2 genes from CIA-susceptible and-resistant mouse strains and identified four differentMa andMb2 alleles and three differentMb1 alleles defined by polymorphic residues within the predicted peptide binding groove. Most CIA-resistant mouse strains share commonMa, M…
