Data from the study: Strong temporal dynamics of ecosystem services through succession

2021

We used a nation-wide forest dataset from the Swedish National Forest Inventory (NFI) and the Survey of Forest Soils and Vegetation, covering an area of 400,000 km2 of production forests. The inventory uses a regular sampling grid with a randomly selected starting point covering the whole country, with each tract being surveyed once every 5 years. The tracts, which are rectangular in shape and are of different dimensions in different parts of the country, consists of 8 (in the north) to 4 (in the south) circular sample plots. The circular plots have different radii (5-20 meters) to ensure that the variables recorded characterize the ongoing forest dynamics and management. We used only plots…

La organización del trabajo por proyectos: La fábrica de la precariedad laboral

2019

The project-based organization, considered as a radical reorganization of work around one or more simultaneous projects, is nowadays widespread in large companies and public administrations. According to the managerial way of thinking, this system would be virtuous: by giving more autonomy to the employees in the act of production and by developing their skills through mobility and interdisciplinarity of work teams, it would be able to arouse their full commitment. This study confirms in some way how this opinion has been imposed, but at the expense of precarious working conditions, increasing the dedication of employees and silencing any form of criticism. The research is based on a review…

Analysis of the Potential of an Increase in Yeast Output Resulting from the Application of Additional Process Wastewater in the Evaporator Station

2019

This paper reports the results of an analysis of process wastewater streams in the context of an increase in yeast production. This research is based on the analysis of data from the biggest yeast factory in Europe. The research presented in this paper involves the analysis of the influence of direction of additional wastewater into the evaporator station on yeast production. In the process wastewater, nitrogen is mainly present in organic forms. The analysis reported in this paper involves the concentration of total nitrogen in wastewater streams, as it is the main parameter applied to determine the amount of wastewater that can be applied in agricultural fields. Directing additional waste…

The importance of phytoplankton production for carbon budgets in a semiarid floodplain wetland

2011

Phytoplankton production (PP) in wetlands is not measured as often as that of macrophytes. A three year-study during a period of sustained high flooding was undertaken in a central Spanish floodplain wetland (Las Tablas de Daimiel National Park) to determine net PP, its spatial heterogeneity and controlling factors, and compare it with primary production in macrophyte communities. This enabled us to estimate carbon budgets for each community. All PP variables showed high spatial and temporal variability among sites, resulting in low coherence even when flooding connected all sites. Net PP corresponded to 25- 36% of submerged plant production and 3-10% of helophyte production. Net PP was con…

2011

In a broad sense Education for All (EFA) is a hazardous Issue for to the least developed countries, and yet it adds, almost always, for these countries to provide additional difficulty for initial learning periods when majority in pupils has to assume the route from the local language to the teaching one. Besides, adapting in this context the provision of education has often done under the financial constraint. The hiring for supplementary teachers, as to reach EFA goal, less paid in comparison to their older colleagues. So now the teacher staff is consequently represented by new teachers with fewer initial education and pedagogical training, but definitely closer to the communities. The re…

Développement et caractérisation d’électrodes pour l’électrolyse alcaline de l’eau

2020

Splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen by electrolysis using electricity from intermittent ocean current, wind, or solar energies is one of the easiest and cleanest routes for high-purity hydrogen production and an effective way to store the excess electrical power without leaving any carbon footprints. The key dilemma for efficient large-scale production of hydrogen by splitting of water via the hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions is the high overpotential required, especially for the oxygen evolution reaction. Hence, engineering highly active and stable earth-abundant oxygen evolution electrocatalysts with three-dimensional hierarchical porous architecture via facile, effective and …

Les limites de la théorie du salaire d'efficience

1998

Efficiency wage theory, evolved by the "new keynesians", is part of a research programme concerned with explaining "involuntary" unemployment as part of the "general equilibrium". So, these works are a synthesis attempt of neo-classical and keynesian analyses in the employment area. Indeed, the authors place their analysis in a walrasian framework, but they integrate a keynesian concept to complete their models. In order to achieve their purpose, the efficiency wage theorists formulate two propositions on which their argument is based: 1° the relation supposed rising between the rate of wage and the productivity of wage earners, 2° the determination of the rate of wage outside the market. W…
