Abstract In this research, plasma electrolytic oxidation coatings were prepared on AZ31 Mg alloy in a silicate-based solution containing K2TiF6 using bipolar and soft sparking waveforms with 10, 20, and 30% cathodic duty cycles. The coatings displayed a net-like surface morphology consisted of irregular micro-pores, micro-cracks, fused oxide particles, and a sintered structure. Due to the incorporation of TiO2 colloidal particles and the cathodic pulse repair effect, most of the micro-pores were sealed. This study was carried out to determine current levels of nitrate in vegetables marketed in the Region of Valencia (Spain) and to estimate the toxicological risk associated with their intake. A total of 533 samples of seven vegetable species were studied. Nitrate levels were derived from the Valencia Region monitoring programme carried out from 2009 to 2013 and food consumption levels were taken from the first Valencia Food Consumption Survey, conducted in 2010. MRI-assisted radiation therapy planning of brain tumors--clinical experiences in 17 patients.

A new and simple method for precise determination of lateral opposed treatment portals was developed and used in 17 patients. Compared to CT, MRI led to significant changes of portals in 59% (10/17) of cases. Individual shielding blocks could be precisely designed by use of our new method. MRI is the procedure of choice in local radiation therapy planning of brain tumors.
