The article is formed of two parts: the first one analyzes the main studies on supervision and group supervision made by national and international authors. West syndrome followed by juvenile myoclonic epilepsy: a coincidental occurrence? is an age-dependent epilepsy with onset peak in the first year of life. According to the ILAE classification, the etiology of WS could be symptomatic or cryptogenic. An idiopathic etiology was considered too. In literature, there was never previously described a transition from WS to JME. Methods: The proband, (male) was referred to our Department at the age of 8 months because he showed clusters of symmetric spasms. Interictal EEG recording displayed an hypsarrhythmic pattern. Nel lavoro viene esaminata la particolare concezione che l'autismo assume nelle culture tradizionali dell'Africa sub-sahariana. In tale contesto il bimbo autistico non viene considerato come portatore di un disturbo ma, al contrario, come un essere che non ha voluto lasciare il luogo degli antenati e che parla la lingua degli avi. Viene quindi pensato come un bimbo speciale in grado di connettersi con il mondo dell'aldilà e quindi gode di privilegi e di rispetto particolare.

La letteratura scientifica ha recentemente registrato l’apparire di una nuova forma di sofferenza psichica che, sebbene ufficialmente ancora priva di una sua autonomia nosografica, trova, ormai, riscontro nella pratica clinica: la bigoressia, nota anche come reverse anorexia. La bigoressia, patologia essenzialmente maschile, è caratterizzata da una prossimità “al rovescio” con la nota anoressia (patologia psichiatrica a più alta prevalenza femminile). Viene discusso un caso clinico relativo a pazienti migrante in cui la funzione riparatrice del sogno serve anche come luogo di elaborazione e di riconnessione con il mondo culturale originario. La prospettiva di annientamento relativa alla perdita dei riferimenti culturali che non comporta la possibilità di un nuovo orizzonte rischia la psicotizzazione del paziente. Solo il ricollegarsi simbolico ai referenti originari culturali rende il paziente operatore e ricostruttore della propria identità.

Background Jumping to conclusions (JTC) is a well-established reasoning and data gathering bias found in patients with psychosis even at illness onset (First Episode Psychosis, FEP). Preliminary work in this field focused primarily on the association with delusions, although jumping to conclusions has also been found in non-deluded schizophrenia patients after remission, and in individual with at risk mental state. Moreover, psychotic patients tend to show impairments in social cognition, struggling in identifying, processing and interpreting social clues.
