The EU-project United4Health: User-centred design of an information system for a Norwegian telemedicine service.

2015

Introduction Organizational changes of health care services in Norway brought to light a need for new clinical pathways. This study presents the design and evaluation of an information system for a new telemedicine service for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease patients after hospital discharge. Methods A user-centred design approach was employed composed of a workshop with end-users, two user tests and a field trial. For data collection, qualitative methods such as observations, semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire were used. Results User workshop’s outcome informed the implementation of the system initial prototype, evaluated by end-users in a usability laboratory. Several us…

El viaje desde los cuestionarios Likert a los cuestionarios de elección forzosa: evidencia de la invarianza de los parámetros de los ítems

2019

ABSTRACT Multidimensional forced-choice questionnaires are widely regarded in the personnel selection literature for their ability to control response biases. Recently developed IRT models usually rely on the assumption that item parameters remain invariant when they are paired in forced-choice blocks, without giving it much consideration. This study aims to test this assumption empirically on the MUPP-2PL model, comparing the parameter estimates of the forced-choice format to their graded-scale equivalent on a Big Five personality instrument. The assumption was found to hold reasonably well, especially for the discrimination parameters. In the cases in which it was violated, we briefly dis…

The SCIA Questionnaire: standards for communities for children and adolescents – a tool for the evaluation of good practices

2019

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to present the Italian validation of the standards for communities for children and adolescents (SCIA) Questionnaire, an evaluation tool of communities quality standards, based on the “Service Standards for Therapeutic Communities for Children and Young People – 2nd edition” of the Community of Communities (2009), that enables an empirical, multidimensional and complex evaluation of the therapeutic community (TC) “system”. It is a self-report that sets out and measures variables that allow to get an overview of organisational models and the possible development areas to improve the effectiveness of the protection of child and adolescents in community tr…

[Choosing a quality-of-life questionnaire].

2006

International audience; Define the objective of the questionnaire: Discrimination: do you want a questionnaire to enable you to describe the quality of life of patients or to compare the quality of life between groups of patients, for example, to determine who has improved and who has gotten worse? Assessment: do you want a questionnaire to help you measure changes over time (improvement or aggravation) in your patients? Determine the properties of instruments necessary for this objective: If the objective is discrimination, analyze: construct validity, reliability. If the objective is assessment, analyze construct validity, sensitivity to changes. Choose the general category of questionnai…

Integrated treatment of first episode psychosis with online training (e-learning): study protocol for a randomised controlled trial

2014

Background: The integrated treatment of first episode psychosis has been shown to improve functionality and negative symptoms in previous studies. In this paper, we describe a study of integrated treatment (individual psychoeducation complementary to pharmacotherapy) versus treatment as usual, comparing results at baseline with those at 6-month re-assessment (at the end of the study) for these patients, and online training of professionals to provide this complementary treatment, with the following objectives: 1) to compare the efficacy of individual psychoeducation as add-on treatment versus treatment as usual in improving psychotic and mood symptoms; 2) to compare adherence to medication,…

Changes in physical activity domains during the transition out of high school: Psychosocial and environmental correlates

2015

Background:This study examined changes in multiple physical activity domains during the transition out of high school and psychosocial and environmental determinants of these changes. Methods:A 1-year prospective study was designed. The baseline sample was composed of 244 last-year high school students (58.6% female) from Valencia, Spain. Follow-up rate was 46%. Physical activity and potential determinants were measured by the Global Physical Activity Questionnaire and other evaluated scales in 2 waves. Results:Total physical activity and active commuting (AC) decreased, respectively, by 21% and 36%, only in males. At time 1, access to car/motorbike (inverse), planning/psychosocial barriers (…

Motivation and personality traits for choosing religious tourism. A research on the case of Medjugorje

2013

Religion has long been a primary motivation for journeys and it is considered the oldest non-economic reason for travelling. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the reasons tourists choose to travel to sacred sites, with the specific aim of discovering relationships between personality traits and motivations for religious travel. Participating in the research were 679 Italian travellers to Medjugorje sanctuary, who completed the travel motivation scale and big five questionnaire. The results show that motivation is focused prevalently on the need for discovery in men and socialisation in women. Multiple regression analyses demonstrated that personality traits are predictive of motiv…

The Provide Training Course. Contents, Methodology, Evaluation

2020

This volume describes the ideational effort required to design and implement a training-course model for "Experts in proximity violence”. Proximity violence concerns multiple forms of gender-based violence which conceal, in turn, more subtle, intimate and viscous forms of dependence. The course was based on modules and availed itself of a "mixed" methodology, where theoretical lectures were interwoven with experiential workshops. During the first six months of 2019, over 800 Italian, French and Spanish operators engaged on the migratory front, attended the courses. The model presented in the first two chapters of the present volume was accompanied and corroborated by a set of ex-ante and ex…
