Les radeaux membranaires et la signalisation végétale

2016

Plant lipid rafts : from proteic composition to physiological roles

2007

International audience; A large body of evidence supports the existence, in membrane from animal and yeast cells, of functional microdomains playing important roles in protein sorting, signal transduction, or infection by pathogens (1). We demonstrated the presence, in plants, of detergent resistant fractions isolated from plasma membrane, with a lipidic composition similar to animal microdomains (2). Electrophoresis experiments indicated that these fractions were able to recruit a specific set of plasma membrane proteins and exclude others. We used mass spectrometry to give an extensive description of a tobacco plasma membrane microdomains. This led to the identification of 145 proteins wh…

Hsp60 from cancer cells can reach near and distant targets: A proposal for a multistage pathway

2011

Cancer cells have means to influence other cells in their vicinity and distant, and in this signal-delivering mechanisms the chaperonin Hsp60 plays a role, which is currently being recognized as potentially crucial for the growth and dissemination of at least certain types of tumors. In order to arrive at its destination, Hsp60, a typical resident of mitochondria in normal and tumor cells, leaves the organelle and reaches the blood. In the latter, Hsp60 can travel and arrive at targets situated far away from its origin. The details of the route followed by Hsp60 and their molecular mechanisms have not yet been fully elucidated. We investigated Hsp60 levels and secretion in normal and tumor …

Regulatory activity of polyunsaturated fatty acids in T-cell signaling.

2009

n-3 Polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA) are considered to be authentic immunosuppressors and appear to exert beneficial effects with respect to certain immune-mediated diseases. In addition to promoting T-helper 1 (Th1) cell to T-helper 2 (Th2) cell effector T-cell differentiation, n-3 PUFA may also exert anti-inflammatory actions by inducing apoptosis in Th1 cells. With respect to mechanisms of action, effects range from the modulation of membrane receptors to gene transcription via perturbation of a number of second messenger cascades. In this review, the putative targets of anti-inflammatory n-3 PUFA, activated during early and late events of T-cell activation will be discussed. Studies h…

Induction of Apoptosis and Chemosensitization by the Histone Deacetylase Inhibitor Trichostatin in Hepatocellular Carcinoma Cells: Molecular Analysis…

2011

The mRNA and protein levels of RKIP are reduced and those of YY1 increased in clinical HCC. Loss, mutation, or promoter hypermethylation of the RKIP gene may not account for the downregulation of RKIP in HCC. Histone deacetylation can silence gene expression and play a significant role in hepatocarcinogenesis. The histone deacetylase inhibitor (HDACI) trichostatin induced cell growth inhibition and proapoptotic effects in HA22T/VGH and HepG2 HCC cells; it also exhibited synergy with doxorubicin. Treatment with trichostatin caused histone hyperacetylation and down- or upregulated expression of different genes (such as β-catenin, cyclin D1, hTERT, XIAP, and IL-6). These changes might, at leas…

Role of persistent CMV infection in configuring T cell immunity in the elderly

2007

Abstract Ageing is associated with declines in many physiological parameters, including multiple immune system functions. The rate of acceleration of the frequency of death due to cardiovascular disease or cancer seems to increase with age from middle age up to around 80 years, plateauing thereafter. Mortality due to infectious disease, however, does not plateau, but continues to accelerate indefinitely. The elderly commonly possess oligoclonal expansions of T cells, especially of CD8 cells, which, surprisingly, are often associated with cytomegalovirus (CMV) seropositivity. This in turn is associated with many of the same phenotypic and functional alterations to T cell immunity that have b…

De la tardor medieval al Renaixement: aspectes d'una gran mutació sociolingüística i cultural a través dels Viciana

2003

Review and contextualisation of biographical, bibliographical, linguistic and ideological facets of Martí de Viciana el Vell (the elder) and his grandson Rafael Martí de Viciana (with special attention to linguistic attitude). By contrasting them, it serves to throw into relief the great cultural and sociolinguistic mutation in the heart of the classes dominating the kingdom of Valencia at the end of the 15th century and beginning of the 16th, caused by important political and social changes.
