Economic Freedom, Knowledge Economy and Global Competitiveness are three of the many and very different dimensions which characterize the level of a country’s performance. This paper tries to present these three important directions, the specific indicators that measure them – IEF, KEI, GCI – and the relationship between them. Also, it will try to demonstrate that countries with free economy can turn into knowledge and competitive economies. Furthermore, it will make a comparative analysis of Romania with the EU countries’ average in order to identify for Romania which pillar’s scores it has to improve.

Il poema Sens e razos d’una escriptura, noto anche come Vangelo occitano di Nicodemo, è uno dei più interessanti della letteratura religiosa in lingua d’oc, eppure è stato fino a oggi sorprendentemente trascurato. Attingendo a diverse fonti, anche di natura apocrifa, il testo prende avvio dalla passione di Gesù e dai fatti che la seguirono – tra cui lo spettacolare spaccato della Discesa agli inferi del Signore – e prosegue tracciando una storia completa della salvezza, fino al Giudizio Finale. Malgrado la pluralità di materiali eterogenei usati dall’autore, il poema presenta una chiara unità stilistica. Ethically ethnic: the ethno-culturalization of the moral conduct of the Sámi and the Roma in the governance in Finland between the 1850s and 1930s

Although there was not a focused administration on ethnic minorities in Finland until the last decades of the 20th century, there was variety of rationalities, techniques and practices of governance used for their conduct. In this article I analyze how the governance of the Roma and the Sámi – two biggest minorities at the time – changed after mid-1800s, when the new understanding, the ethno-cultural one, on population diffused among administration and governing bodies. This Foucauldian analysis concentrates on the descent of this ‘event’, the social and political conditions of its mergence, and the actual changes it meant in the governance of these minorities. peerReviewed
Suden uskonnollinen asema antiikin Roomassa

Tämän tutkimuksen tavoitteena on tutkia suden uskonnollista merkitystä antiikin Roomassa sekä tuoda esille suden ja Rooman välisen erityissuhteen taustoja. Keskeisinä tutkimuskysymyksinäni on selvittää, missä määrin roomalaisten ja lähikansojen susiin liittyvissä kulteissa oli yhteisiä rakennetekijöitä, mikä oli suden merkitys roomalaisille enne-eläimenä sekä välttelivätkö roomalaiset susiin kohdistuvaa väkivaltaa. Tutkimukseni perustuu klassillisen filologian metodiin eli kielellisten dokumenttien kriittiseen tarkasteluun historiallisessa ja kulttuurisessa kontekstissaan.
