Tässä maisterintutkielmassa tarkasteltiin yhden sosialistisen realismin alakäsitteen, narodnostin, merkitystä ja asemaa Neuvostoliiton musiikkipolitiikassa 1930-luvulla. Narodnost-käsitteen merkitystä selvitettiin suhteessa 1930-luvun Neuvostoliiton laajempiin poliittisiin diskursseihin, mikä toi esille Neuvostoliiton virallisen taidesuuntauksen muotoutumisen yhteyden tuon ajan historialliseen ja poliittiseen kontekstiin. This article supports claims that critical realism philosophy of science, as refounded in the hands of Roy Bhaskar, offers valuable knowledge enhancing insight into the advancement of Marx’s research program. However, it maintains that key principles set out by Bhaskar have not been adequately assimilated by those working with critical realism in the field of Marxist studies. Questo cambio di accento può essere collegato con il passaggio ideologico dall'internazionalismo rivoluzionario al nazionalismo granderusso.

And then it studies the parallel Catalan movement focusing on the problem of identity assertion in the narrative. In many of our narrators of this realism of complaint (Concepció G. Maluquer, Estanislau Torres, Víctor Mora and Joaquim Carbó) national commitment accompanyies social and political commitment. It is a peculiar trait that distinguishes our movement and gives the physiognomy of its own.

Lähteenä toimii Kaspar Freulerin ja Hans Thürerin kokoelmateos Glarner Sagen, joka sisältää kertomuksia kyseisestä kantoonista. Romaani tulkitaan hyväksi esimerkiksi intertekstuaalisuudesta sen sisältämien historiallisten ja kulttuuristen viitteiden ansiosta.
