Famiglie, disagio e servizio sociale
2019
The volume collects contributions that intend to reveal the social and cultural nature of the family.
La generatività familiare. Nuove prospettive di studio in educazione
2019
The paper aims to present, through a pedagogical approach, the concept of family generativity, without neglecting its limits and critical points. In addition to E.H. Erikson’s well-known studies, the concept of generativity occupies a crucial position for some scholars of symbolic-relational area, who explain it as an essentially relational construct: it is the value of the relationship between the generations. The analysis underlines how the intergenerational dimension, which traverses the couple and the family, is at the origin of the family generativity as it develops and grows thanks to the donative sources within the family systems. Therefore, it’s a task that delineates itself as esse…
Informant discrepancies in perceived parental psychological control, adolescent autonomy, and relatedness psychological needs
2021
Abstract Framed from Self-Determination Theory and Family Systems Theory, the present multi-informant study sought to contribute to a better understanding of the relations between discrepancies in parents' and adolescents' perceptions of parental psychological control and satisfaction of adolescents' needs for autonomy and relatedness. Participants were 190 Italian intact families in which an adolescent was present (Mage = 16.47 years, SDage = 1.41). Our findings highlighted that: (1) adolescents generally tended to perceive higher levels of psychological control than their parents reported; (2) adolescents tended to rate mothers' psychological control higher than the mothers themselves, wh…
Challenging Unequal Gendered Conventions in Heterosexual Relationship Contexts through Affective Dissonance
2019
In Nordic countries, intimate relationships are routinely compared against ideals of gender equality, even though equality is not always achieved in everyday life. In this article, we analyse interviews with women that lived in unconventional relationships: mid- to later-life women in relationships with younger men, and bisexual women who have had relationships with people of different genders. The women’s expectations of equality and reciprocity in heterosexual relationships collided with the lived reality of inequalities, causing affective dissonance. We identify three strategies that women use to deal with this affective dissonance. In the first strategy, unequal relationship patterns ar…

Educare alla cura tra le generazioni. Una riflessione pedagogica sul concetto di generatività
2021
The paper aims to present, through an educational approach, a reflection about generativity, defined as the desire to leave a positive legacy and related activities that raise outcomes for future generations. However, today some studies suggest that generativity as a targeted midlife task may no longer be sufficient for explaining a life course pattern of generative concerns, commitment, and actions, and it refers to a generative concern during adolescence, to a generative commitment in adulthood, and to a sense of integrity, the result of a generative life, in old age. Some scholars of symbolic-relational area interpret the generativity as an essentially relational construct: it is the val…
A Study about Generativity in Intergenerational Care in Pandemic Time
2021
The paper aims to present, through an educational approach, a reflection about generativity, defined as the desire to leave a positive legacy and related activities that raise outcomes for future generations (Erikson, 1950; McAdams, de St. Aubin, Logan, 1993). Sustaining the future has been identified as a key factor in the welfare of future generations and the desire to leave a positive legacy (Hauser et al., 2014) helps young adult to cope with the challenges of the transition to adulthood in contemporary life. However, interdisciplinary theoretical insight suggests that generativity as a targeted midlife task may no longer be sufficient for explaining a life course pattern of generative …
Morphological and genetic diversity within Pilosella hoppeana aggr. (Asteraceae) in Italy and taxonomic implications
2013
Morphological variation, ploidy level and genetic diversity have been studied on 10 populations of the Pilosella hoppeana aggr. from the Alps, Abruzzo, Calabria and Sicily.Chromosome counts showed that the plants from Abruzzo and those from Sicily are tetraploid (2n = 36); they are assigned to P. hoppeana subsp. macrantha. The plants from the Alps (P. hoppeana subsp. hoppeana) and those from Calabria are diploid. The Calabrian populations, previously included in P. hoppeana subsp. macrantha, are shown to belong to a separate species, P. leucopsilon. The principal component analysis, based on 25 morphological characters, allowed distinguishing clearly four groups. An allozymes study using 10…
Genetic similarity among Tunisian cultivated olive estimated through SSR markers
2013
Olive (Olea europaea L. subsp. europaea var. europaea) is one of the oldest fruit tree in the Mediterranean basin, and is cultivated for oil and canned fruit. Part of this interest is driven by the economic importance of olive oil which is increasing throughout the world due to its beneficial effect to human health. In Tunisia, olive has great socio-economic importance, with more than 60 millions olive trees cultivated for olive oil production including a wide range of cultivars which are widely extended from the north to the south regions of the country for its high economic value. Here, we applied microsatellites (SSRs) molecular markers to assess the genetic variability of the most impor…
Phylogenetic relationships of genus Stertomys (Gliridae) from the “Terre Rosse” fissure filling (Gargano, Apulia)
2011
Stertomys is an endemic genus of Gliridae commonly found in the Late Miocene “Terre Rosse” fissure fillings from Gargano (southern Italy). The taxonomy of this genus have been recently reconsidered and, up to date, five new species have been described beside the giant Stertomys laticrestatus Daams & Freudenthal 1985. The species have different biochronological range and may be assigned to two groups according to their size and complexity of the dental pattern. The smaller and morphologically simpler group includes Stertomys simplex Martín-Suárez & Freudenthal 2007, Stertomys daamsi Freudenthal & Martín-Suárez 2006 (occurring in the older fissures) and Stertomys degiulii Rinaldi & Masini 200…
