Bringing the child's procedural rights before the ECtHR through interpretative tools : access to justice, participation and representation

The legal framework governing proceedings before the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) neither guarantees access to justice for children nor is it a child-sensitive procedure. Indeed, it does not allow for a direct hearing for children, nor does it provide them with an independent representative in cases of potential or actual conflict of interests. The 3rd of October 2013 more than 300 migrants died after a boat sank off the coasts of Lampedusa. This probably was the most dramatic shipwreck ever happened in the Mediterranean, and certainly the one which attracted the most media attention in Italy and elsewhere. Empirical analyses of European intellectual property rights institutions

This dissertation consists of introduction chapter and five empirical studies on European intellectual property rights institutions. Chapters 2, 3 and 4 are micro-level studies and the perspective shifts to macro-level in Chapters 5 and 6. Chapters 2, 3, 5 and 6 analyze two-tiered patent systems and Chapter 4 focuses on design rights. Chapter 2 analyzes the choice between patent and utility model protection among German firms. The results indicate that larger firms are more likely to use both protection methods and that a short life cycle of products and services is associated with an increased likelihood to use utility models. Classification of stilbenoid compounds by entropy of artificial intelligence

A set of 66 stilbenoid compounds is classified into a system of periodic properties by using a procedure based on artificial intelligence, information entropy theory. Eight characteristics in hierarchical order are used to classify structurally the stilbenoids. The former five features mark the group or column while the latter three are used to indicate the row or period in the table of periodic classification. Those stilbenoids in the same group are suggested to present similar properties. Furthermore, compounds also in the same period will show maximum resemblance. Wykonywanie kary pozbawienia wolności związane jest z izolowaniem skazanych w zakładach karnych odpowiedniego typu. Warunki w zakładzie typu zamkniętego zostały tak określone, że prawa skazanych ograniczono głównie ze względu na konieczność utrzymania ładu i porządku wewnętrznego. Dlatego też takich skazanych jedynie uprawniono do przebywania w otwartych celach mieszkalnych, do zatrudnienia poza zakładem, do korzystania z zajęć kulturalnych i sportowych i nauki, do korzystania z własnej bielizny, obuwia i odzieży oraz widzeń (na określonych surowych zasadach).
