Le plafond en bois peint (1377-1380) de la grande salle du Palais Chiaramonte ou Steri à Palerme, « somme figurative de toute la littérature romanesque du Moyen Âge » (G. Folena), est un monument unique en son genre où se rencontrent des traditions artistiques et littéraires européennes, méditerranéennes et locales. The monograph investigates the breakdown of the Uruk world-system towards the end of the 4th millennium BCE, and the roots of secondary state formation in the Middle Euphrates region through the analysis of continuity and change in the Early Bronze ceramic material from the site of Tell el-‘Abd (Tabqa Dam, Syria). The paper investigates the recovery of classical artworks done through street art by Andrea ‘Ravo’ Mattoni, thus connecting his practice with social responsibility and aesthetic contextualisation emerging from public art in the wake of John Latham’s contextualism and Joseph Beuys’ social sculpture. The choice to recover classical iconography and repertoire from the sites of his interventions offers further the chance to consider the role of contemporary artists in expanding public consciousness and accessibility to cultural heritage by transferring images and meanings from museum rooms to open streets in the original sites. Study and restoration of a stucco decorative cycle with figures, attributable to the Serpotta family

The article describes the innovative restoration of a decorative figured stucco, attributed to Giacomo Serpotta or to his family, with winged putti and a female figure sitting on a triumphal chariot. The work, in the past at the former Museo Nazionale and today at the Galleria Regionale di Palazzo Abatellis, can be dated between the late seventeenth century and the beginning of eighteenth century and is a testimony of the Baroque in Palermo.
