Online Sparse Collapsed Hybrid Variational-Gibbs Algorithm for Hierarchical Dirichlet Process Topic Models

Topic models for text analysis are most commonly trained using either Gibbs sampling or variational Bayes. Recently, hybrid variational-Gibbs algorithms have been found to combine the best of both worlds. Variational algorithms are fast to converge and more efficient for inference on new documents. Gibbs sampling enables sparse updates since each token is only associated with one topic instead of a distribution over all topics. Additionally, Gibbs sampling is unbiased. Although Gibbs sampling takes longer to converge, it is guaranteed to arrive at the true posterior after infinitely many iterations. UT503VDP::Social science: 200::Sociology: 220En polarisert og betent debatt preger tematikken omkring det store antallet mennesker som søker seg til Europa og til Norge på flukt fra krig og fattigdom. Den største flyktningekrisen siden den 2. verdenskrig har bidratt til å bringe den politiske opinionen i Europa stadig lengre mot det populistiske og nasjonalistiske høyre der vinklingene i all hovedsak handler om utfordringene og problemene som flyktningene bringer med seg. I det som er blitt betegnet som et kappløp mot bunnen har de europeiske statene igangsatt et svarteperspill der det kappes om å gjøre seg minst mulig attraktive for flyktningene. Midt i denne krisen er barna de mest sårbare av alle. Hver enkelt av dem har rett til beskyttelse i henhold til Barnekonvensjonen. Flyktningekrisen påvirker opinion også i Norge og hvordan majoritetsbefolkningen tar i mot de som er innvilget opphold her i landet. Migrasjonsforskningen er og har vært preget av de store fortellingene der innvandring ses i sammenheng med landets utvikling generelt. Graden av suksess eller fiasko blir ofte målt ved å se på flyktningenes tilpasningsevne til statlige og sosiale rammer. I denne oppgaven vil fokus ligge på de små fortellingene; enslige unge flyktningers egne erfaringer i møte med et nytt land. Med utgangspunkt i de unges forhold til organiserte fritidsaktiviteter ønsker jeg å belyse deres egenforståelse av hva som hemmer og fremmer deres integreringsprosess i Norge.

Secondo i dati EUROSTAT (2019), circa il 40% delle città europee con più di 200.000 abitanti stanno perdendo popolazione; una contrazione che si esplicita maggiormente, sotto il profilo spaziale, in una progressiva sottoutilizzazione del patrimonio edificato, così come nel contestuale incremento di aree e terreni in stato di abbandono. Urban shrinkage became a central issue in both the scientific debate and the political agenda of several European cities. According to EUROSTAT data (2019) about 40% of European cities with more than 200000 inhabitants are losing population. A shrinkage that is more explicit in a progressive underutilization of the built heritage as well as in the concomitant increase of abandoned areas. In this controversial framework of structural mutation of the city urban policies in Europe try to decline the degrowth as a strategic opportunity to invest in green areas in order to increase urban quality and to act simultaneously on the development of local economies. With respect to the above framework this contribution focuses on the evaluation of the effects that the project of new public green spaces have generated on some sample areas on the outskirts of the city of Palermo. Master's thesis Music management MU501 - University of Agder 2018 Building on two marketing theories: the product and marketing concept, this study conceptualizes how music sampling, consumers’ income and attitude affect streaming subscription in Nigeria. The aim is to test whether efficient market for streaming subscription could be developed in emerging economies and contribute to growth in the world digital music markets.
