Abstract The aim of the research was to verify and compare the predictive power of different diagnostic areas in assessing landslide susceptibility with a multivariate approach. Characterization of automotive shredder residues before and five years after landfill disposal

The paper illustrates the results of an extensive analytical characterization study of automotive shredder residues (ASR), also known as "fluff". The analyses concerned material fractions and their content, with special reference to heavy metals (e.g. Cd, Cr, Hg, Pb, Cu) and arsenic. Elution tests on the original materials were also conducted. Moreover, chemical concentrations of ASR samples after about five years' landfill residence was assessed, in order to verify possible changes resulting from both in-situ leaching and organic matter degradation phenomena. La rassegna analizza sinteticamente le decisioni in materia di intese restrittive della concorrenza, adottate, nel corso del 2012, dall’Autorità garante della concorrenza e del mercato (qui di seguito « Agcm »). The sanitation service of seagrasses – Dependencies and implications for the estimation of avoided costs

Seagrasses are capable of sanitizing coastal seawaters polluted by fecal bacteria. In this work, the reduction of Enterococci concentration in the presence of a seagrasses’ assemblage (Pacific Ocean) was related to the decrease in the probability of gastroenteritis. A linear model fitted to data extracted from the literature showed a 20% reduction of this probability in the presence of these plants. Seagrass sanitation effect was estimated to allow avoiding ca. 24 million gastroenteritis cases/year, globally. Considering a global cost of gastroenteritis of ca. This chapter focuses on recent legislation that has concerned certain levels of the Public Administration, with particular reference to those interventions that are based on a constant process of empowering people within the usual place of work. In this sense, the focus is particularly on the tool called whistleblowing. Specifically, it is a practice aimed at indicating the presence of the violation of one or more rules within the usual place of work. In the chapter I dwell on some problematic aspects related to the relevant legislation also through some comparisons with the US legislation.
