Socioemotional Wealth and Networking in the Internationalisation of Family SMEs

In internationalisation processes, international expansion exposes family SMEs to external networking and the risks such expansion entails, and perceived threats to their socioemotional wealth (SEW) might restrain their willingness to take these actions. However, very few studies measure SEW and associate it with internationalisation. A new perspective on the reactivity of hydroxyquinones was revealed as an acetal derivative of lawsone was synthesized, isolated, and used in tandem Knoevenagel/hetero-Diels-Alder reactions catalyzed by S-proline. The intermediate alkylidene-1,3-diones that were formed in situ reacted with electron rich alkenes to predominantly afford pyrano-1,2-naphthoquinone (β-lapachone) derivatives along with the isomeric pyrano-1,4-naphthoquinone (α-lapachone) derivatives in high to excellent total yields. Intra-individual variability in task performance after cognitive training is associated with long-term outcomes in children

AbstractThe benefits and mechanistic effects of working memory training in children are the subject of much research and debate. The cumulative evidence indicates that training can alter brain structure and function in the short term and have lasting effects on behaviour. We show that five weeks of working memory training led to greater activity in prefrontal and striatal brain regions, better accuracy, and reduced intra-individual variability in response times. Event-Based Trajectory Prediction Using Spiking Neural Networks

International audience; In recent years, event-based sensors have been combined with spiking neural networks (SNNs) to create a new generation of bio-inspired artificial vision systems. These systems can process spatio-temporal data in real time, and are highly energy efficient. In this study, we used a new hybrid event-based camera in conjunction with a multi-layer spiking neural network trained with a spike-timing-dependent plasticity learning rule. 1,3-Dipolar cycloadditions with meso-tetraarylchlorins – site selectivity and mixed bisadducts

The 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction of meso-tetraarylporphyrins with nitrones gives isoxazolidine-fused chlorins. Depending on the substitution pattern on the meso-aryl groups and the nitrone, the chlorins can be obtained in high yields (up to 91%). Bacteriochlorin-type bisadducts are also obtained, although in low yield, from the reaction of meso-tetrakis(pentafluorophenyl)porphyrin with N-methyl, N-cyclohexyl or N-benzyl nitrone. The structure of a bis(N-benzyl isoxazolidine-fused) bacteriochlorin was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and rationalized by DFT calculations. Electrochemically triggered iodide-vacancy BiOI film for selective extraction of iodide ion from aqueous solutions

Abstract The effective extraction and regeneration of radioactive iodide remains an urgent concern for safe nuclear energy utilization. Herein, we developed a novel electrochemically triggered iodide-vacancy BiOI film, which exhibited excellent I− ion extraction capacity of 328.3 mg·g−1. Especially, due to the ion vacancy trap effect, the film showed high selectivity towards I− ions in the existence of a large number of competitive anions.
