Free-Comment (FC) consists in panelists describing the products using their own terms. Despite its benefits, notably the circumvention of limitations inherent to pre-established lists of sensory descriptors, FC remains rarely used because its performances are not well documented and its analyses and range of application remain limited. In this paper simple temporal compression algorithms' efficiency to reduce LoRa-based sensor node energy consumption has been evaluated and measured. It is known that radio transmission is the most energy consuming operation in a wireless sensor node. In this paper three lightweight compression algorithms are implemented in an embedded LoRa platform to compress sensor data in on-line mode and the overall energy consumption is measured. Energy consumption is compared to the situation without implementing any compression algorithm. Fig (Ficus carica L.) is a nutritious fruit, rich in fiber, potassium, calcium, and iron. It is an important source of vitamins, amino acids, antioxidants and phenolic compounds that contribute to a healthy diet. In addition to Asian countries, fig is cultivated in the Mediterranean basin, where quality fruit has been produced since ancient times. Abstract Between 1 September and 4 October 2014, a combined airborne and ground-based measurement campaign was conducted to study tropical deep convective clouds over the Brazilian Amazon rain forest. Reliable Propagation of Magnetic Domain Walls in Cross Structures for Advanced Multiturn Sensors

[EN] We develop and analyze an advanced concept for a domain-wall-based sensing of rotations. Moving domain walls in n closed loops with n - 1 intersecting convolutions by rotating fields, we are able to sense n rotations. By combining loops with coprime numbers of rotations, we create a sensor system allowing for the total counting of millions of turns of a rotating applied magnetic field. We analyze the operation of the sensor and identify the intersecting cross structures as the critical component for reliable operation. Set-valued consensus for distributed clock synchronization

This paper addresses the clock synchronization problem in a wireless sensor network (WSN) and proposes a distributed solution that consists of a form of consensus, where agents are able to exchange data representing intervals or sets. The solution is based on a centralized algorithm for clock synchronization, proposed by Marzullo, that determines the smallest interval that is in common with the maximum number of measured intervals. We first show how to convert such an algorithm into a problem involving only operations on sets, and then we convert it into a set–valued consensus.
