Etudes d'objets combinatoires : applications à la bio-informatique
2011
This thesis considers classes of combinatorial objects that model data in bioinformatics. We have studied two methods of mutation of genes within the genome : duplication and inversion. At first,we study the problem of the whole mirror duplication-random lossmodel in terms of pattern avoiding permutations. We prove that the class of permutations obtained with this method after p duplications from the identity is the class of permutations avoiding alternating permutations of length 2p + 1.We also enumerate the number of duplications that are necessary and sufficient to obtain any permutation of length n from the identity. We also suggest two efficient algorithms to reconstruct two different …
Changing agricultural practices modifies the species and trait composition of the weed flora. A simulation study using a model of cropping system eff…
2012
International audience; Cropping systems change to adapt to socio-economical and environmental constraints (e.g. simplified tillage) and to profit from technological innovations (e.g. genetically-modified crops). These changes can result in unexpected side-effects which are difficult to determine in fields. The objective of the present study was to use a model, FLORSYS, to evaluate such impacts ex ante on weeds. FLORSYS quantifies the effects of crop succession, management techniques and climate on multi-specific weed dynamics over the years; it was parameterized with functional relationships predicting model parameters (e.g. seed mortality) from species traits (e.g. seed coat thickness). C…

Are No-Till Herbicide-Free Systems Possible? A Simulation Study
2022
Conservation agriculture (CA) allows farmers to reduce costs and enhance soil health, buttends to increase either weed infestation and associated crop yield loss, and/or herbicide use.We aimed to investigate how much tillage contributes to reducing weed infestation and yieldloss, and which systems and weed species are the most affected if tillage is deleted. Wecollected farming practices on 395 arable cropping systems from Spain and France, andsimulated them over 30 years and with 10 weather repetitions, using FLORSYS. This processbased model (Colbach et al., 2021, Field Crops Res 261:108006) simulates daily multi-speciesweed floras and crop canopies from cropping systems and pedoclimate ov…
Guidelines for the use and interpretation of assays for monitoring autophagy (3rd edition)
2016
Seuls les 100 premiers auteurs dont les auteurs INRA ont été entrés dans la notice. La liste complète des auteurs et de leurs affiliations est accessible sur la publication.; International audience; In 2008 we published the first set of guidelines for standardizing research in autophagy. Since then, research on this topic has continued to accelerate, and many new scientists have entered the field. Our knowledge base and relevant new technologies have also been expanding. Accordingly, it is important to update these guidelines for monitoring autophagy in different organisms. Various reviews have described the range of assays that have been used for this purpose. Nevertheless, there continues…

Effet des messages de sécurité routière sur la détection des cyclistes par les automobilistes dans un environnement dynamique : implication des proce…
2018
The aim of the present project is to provide a better understanding of how safety messages can control drivers' vulnerable road user detection abilities. Safety messages provide both vulnerability information and elicit emotion with persons that are exposed to it. This thesis deals with how vulnerability information and emotions respectively affect vulnerable road user detection performances. A special focus was placed on cyclists because of the lack of studies that address cyclist detetcion issues. The project also focused on physiology, especially emotion identification through physiological patterns.
Modèle global et paramétrable, pour la gestion des foules d'agents en animation comportementale
2011
The realism of crowd behavioral animation is based on one hand on a rendering of graphic scenes generated by the application, and on the other hand on the realism of the behavior. This is last point which is our object of study. The realism of crowds' behavior is essentially global (macroscopic realism). It must respect the required statistical characteristics of the crowd (density, dispersal, speed…) similar to those of a real crowd. The realism is also local (microscopic realism), i.e. agents should ideally behave like humans or human groups taken as reference, at least in the focus of the considered application. The aim of our research is to propose a generic model to perform crowd behav…
Entangled photons through thick scattering media: experiments and comparison with simulations of the biphoton wave function
2021
International audience; We report experimentally and numerically quantum correlations imaging through thick random media. We demonstrated that spatial correlations between twin photon are still detected but no in form of two-photon speckle-like patterns.
