Rentes différentielles et rente absolue : un réexamen

1982

2002

Current discussions about dollarization/euroization are built on substitution models and cost/benefits analysis. This working paper aims to go beyond these explanations based on a functionalist definition of money. An institutionalist definition of money advocates analyzing de facto dollarization more broadly as a legitimacy crisis of the unit of account that damages monetary sovereignty and of whom authorities try to check in a kind o f institutional resistance. A macroeconomic definition of money involves questionning full and de jure dollarization consistency with both of principles guiding the monetary economy of production: (1) endogeneity of money; (2) merger between monetary space an…

Spatial econometrics (1, Spatial autocorrelation)

2000

Spatial econometric methods aim at taking into account the two special characteristics of spatial data: spatial autocorrelation, which is the lack of independence between geographical observations, and spatial heterogeneity, which is related to the differentiation of variables and behaviors in space. These techniques have been mostly developed the last ten years and are more often applied in empirical studies with geographical data. The aim of this article is to present the way spatial autocorrelation and spatial heterogeneity can be incorporated in regression relationships and to present the estimation and inference procedures adapted to the models incorporating these two effects. This arti…

On continua whose hyperspace of subcontinua is σ-locally connected

1999

Abstract We provide a structural characterization of all continua X whose hyperspace C ( X ) of all subcontinua is the countable union of Peano continua. Applying this result we prove that there exists a uniformly path connected continuum X with no continuous mapping from C ( X ) onto X.

Dynamics of a harmonic oscillator coupled with a Glauber amplifier

2020

A system of a quantum harmonic oscillator bi-linearly coupled with a Glauber amplifier is analysed considering a time-dependent Hamiltonian model. The Hilbert space of this system may be exactly subdivided into invariant finite dimensional subspaces. Resorting to the Jordan-Schwinger map, the dynamical problem within each invariant subspace may be traced back to an effective SU(2) Hamiltonian model expressed in terms of spin variables only. This circumstance allows to analytically solve the dynamical problem and thus to study the exact dynamics of the oscillator-amplifier system under specific time-dependent scenarios. Peculiar physical effects are brought to light by comparing the dynamics…

Italica (Seville, Spain): use of local marble in Augustan age

2010

This study concerns 51 marble finds made of “Cipollino verde” coming from the ancient city of Italica (north of the modern city of Santiponce, 9 km NW of Seville, Spain), the earliest Roman settlement in Spain, founded in 206 B.C. The aim of this work was to determine their provenance from Greek and Italian quarries or from local quarries worked in the Iberian Peninsula. Thin-section optical microscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, bulk rock chemistry and O, C and Sr stable isotope analyses were carried out. Results were compared with literature data on “Cipollino verde” marbles quarried in southern Euboea (Greece), Apuan Alps (Italy), Almería, Extremoz, Seville (Spain) and Évora (Portugal). T…
