Reliability of Monte Carlo event generators for gamma-ray dark matter searches
2013
We study the differences in the gamma-ray spectra simulated by four Monte Carlo event generator packages developed in particle physics. Two different versions of PYTHIA and two of HERWIG are analyzed, namely PYTHIA 6.418 and HERWIG 6.5.10 in Fortran and PYTHIA 8.165 and HERWIG 2.6.1 in C++. For all the studied channels, the intrinsic differences between them are shown to be significative and may play an important role in misunderstanding dark matter signals.
Multiplicity fluctuations in one- And two-dimensional angular intervals compared with analytic QCD calculations
1999
Multiplicity fluctuations in rings around the jet axis and in off-axis cones have been measured by the DELPHI collaboration in $e^+e^-$ annihilations into hadrons at LEP energies. The measurements are compared with analytical perturbative QCD calculations for the corresponding multiparton system, using the concept of Local Parton Hadron Duality. Some qualitative features are confirmed by the data but substantial quantitative deviations are observed.

Transverse momentum spectra and nuclear modification factors of charged particles in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV
2019
Transverse momentum (pT) spectra of charged particles at mid-pseudorapidity in Xe–Xe collisions at √sNN = 5.44 TeV measured with the ALICE apparatus at the Large Hadron Collider are reported. The kinematic range 0.15 10 GeV/c. The centrality dependence of the ratio of the average transverse momentum (pT) in Xe–Xe collisions over Pb–Pb collision at √s = 5.02 TeV is compared to hydrodynamical model calculations. peerReviewed
Study of very thin oxide layers by conversion and Auger electrons
1990
Oxidic layers as thin as 20–30 A on α-Fe and stainless steel are studied by57Fe-DCEMS with K-conversion electrons and ICEMS. No indication of a vanishingf-factor could be found. Mossbauer spectra, recorded by use of LMM-Auger electrons (AEMS) and by electrons emitted with energies below 15 eV (LEEMS), contain information on the surface layer as well as on the bulk material, showing that part of these electrons are due to secondary effects and the high escape depths of K-conversion electrons.

NEW RESULTS ON NONMESONIC WEAK DECAY OF Lambda HYPERNUCLEI WITH FINUDA
2010
The FINUDA experiment has performed a systematic study of the NonMesonic Weak Decay (NMWD) of Λ hypernuclei analizing all the data collected from 2003 up to 2007. The results of a measurement of the spectra of protons coming from the NMWD of [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] are the subject of this paper.
Gamow–Teller beta decays of the odd-mass neighbors of the solar-neutrino detector 127I
2002
Abstract Calculations of the energy spectra and the log ft values of Gamow–Teller beta transitions of neutron-odd and proton-odd nuclei close to the solar-neutrino detector 127I are performed using the microscopic quasiparticle–phonon model. The information obtained from the beta transition strengths is valuable in solar-neutrino detection and dark matter search both in present and future large-scale experiments. Realistic interactions within a realistic single-particle valence space were used in the calculations. The overall correspondence in terms of the excitation spectra and the log ft values between theory and experiments can be regarded as quite good when considering the completely mi…
A time-of-flight facility for the measurement of electron-induced neutron spectra
1974
Abstract A time-of-flight facility is constructed to investigate photoneutrons in the energy range 5 MeV ≤ En ≤ 200 MeV. Photoneutrons are detected simultaneously at four angles (40.2°, 90°, 113.5°, 142.2°). The overall time resolution varies from 0.282 ns/m to 0.358 ns/m, depending on the different flight paths (18.56 m to 11.40 m). As a first check the facility is used to measure the ratio of the number of virtual photons to real photons via the photodisintegration of 2H. The measured values agree with the calculated photon spectra.
New Features in the Systematics of Low‐Spin States in Even 106‐120Cd
1991
Low‐spin states in even 106‐112Cd and 116Cd were investigated by in‐beam and off‐beam γ‐ray and conversion‐electron spectroscopy. New spin assignments and decay branching ratios for the levels in 106Cd,108Cd,110Cd and 112Cd were obtained. From the new systematical data for the even 106‐120Cd, it is inferred that two sets of low‐lying 0+ states cross between 114Cd and 116Cd. One of these sets appears to have features of both intruder and two‐quadrupole‐phonon states.
