Non linear control of glycaemia in type 1 diabetic patients

A fuzzy controller for the closed loop control, by insulin infusion of glycaemia in type 1 diabetic patients is proposed. The controller uses type-2 fuzzy sets. The controller was tested in simulation using a complex nonlinear model of the glucose metabolism. Simulation results confirm the effectiveness and the robustness of the type-2 fuzzy logic controller. The design of the controller uses an optimization method based on genetic algorithms. This makes the type-2 fuzzy controller more efficient and faster than a fuzzy controller with type-1 fuzzy sets, allowing a more accurate control of the glucose in the blood.

Il presente lavoro ha l’obiettivo di tradurre, adattare e validare la versione italiana dell’Adolescent Family Process (AFP), strumento finalizzato a valutare la vicinanza genito-riale, il supporto, il monitoraggio, la comunicazione, il conflitto e l’approvazione dei pari. Le proprietà psicometriche dell’adattamento dell’AFP sono state indagate attraverso un campione non clinico di emerging adult italiani (n = 349). Le analisi fattoriali confermative hanno restituito soddisfacenti risultati psicometrici, evidenziando come questo strumento possa essere utilizzato anche nel contesto italiano per valutare dimensioni significative che contraddistinguono la relazione parentale. Effects of the Enriched Sports Activities-Program on Executive Functions in Italian Children.

Physical activity (PA) during childhood plays an important role in brain development. This role is played in both the structural domain, prefrontal cortex area, and in the functional domain, involving the higher cognitive functions, including the executive functions (EF). Working memory (WM), inhibition, and switching as fundamental EF were investigated in an Italian children sample before and after four months of an Enriched Sports Activities-Program (ESA-Program).
