Fra gli anni ottanta e novanta Palermo ha vissuto – come altre città del Sud – una stagione in cui sembrava avviato un profondo cambiamento sociale e politico. Dopo decenni di malgoverno e corruzione, segnati da un’economia debole e assistita e dai condizionamenti della criminalità, la società civile si era mobilitata. Il governo locale, anche per effetto della riforma, tentava di sperimentare un nuovo modello di sviluppo urbano e nuovi rapporti fra politica e società. Ci sono forme di capitale sociale che promuovono lo sviluppo e altre che lo inibiscono. Durante il Medioevo, maghrebini e genovesi si contendevano il primato commerciale nell'area del Mediterraneo. A soccombere furono i maghrebini che godevano di una dotazione di capitale sociale comunitario, e cioè di affidabilità interna, maggiore dei genovesi. Proprio per questo non sentirono l'esigenza di sviluppare sistemi per rendere sicure le transazioni commerciali fra estranei.

Among the others, the use of saline gradient power is one of the latest emerging possibilities, related to the use of the osmotic/chemical potential energy of concentrated saline solutions. Nowadays, the fate of this renewable energy source is intrinsically linked to the development of the pressure retarded osmosis and reverse electrodialysis technologies. Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is a very distressing experience for children and requires a special effort of adjustment. Therefore, it seems to be crucial to explore coping resources for the experienced risk condition. In this sense, the study focuses on coping strategies and locus of control in children with ALL during the treatment phase, and on their possible relation. The correlation between children and maternal coping strategies is also investigated. Introduction: Childhood absence epilepsy (CAE) is a common type of pediatric idiopathic generalized epilepsy, characterized by multiple seizures of typical absence, with typical EEG pattern consisting in bilateral synchronous and symmetrical discharges of generalized 3 Hz spike-wave (SWDs).
