Density functional theory based screening of ternary alkali-transition metal borohydrides: a computational material design project.

We present a computational screening study of ternary metal borohydrides for reversible hydrogen storage based on density functional theory. We investigate the stability and decomposition of alloys containing 1 alkali metal atom, Li, Na, or K M1; and 1 alkali, alkaline earth or 3d / 4d transition metal atom M2 plus two to five BH4 groups, i.e., M1M2BH42‐5, using a number of model structures with trigonal, tetrahedral, octahedral, and free coordination of the metal borohydride complexes. Of the over 700 investigated structures, about 20 were predicted to form potentially stable alloys with promising decomposition energies. Sex differences in vertebrate spatial abilities are typically interpreted under the adaptive specialization hypothesis, which posits that male reproductive success is linked to larger home ranges and better navigational skills. The androgen spillover hypothesis counters that enhanced male spatial performance may be a byproduct of higher androgen levels. Animal groups that include species where females are expected to outperform males based on life-history traits are key for disentangling these hypotheses. Het bepalen van dynamische netwerken met behulp van data is een actief onderzoeksgebied, met name in de systeem biologie. Het schatten van de structuur van een netwerk heeft te maken met het bepalen van de aan of afwezigheid van een relatie tussen de hoekpunten in de graaf. Grafische modellen definiëren deze relaties via conditionele afhankelijkheid. In Gaussiaanse grafische modellen (GGM) wordt verondersteld dat de hoekpunten een normale verdeling volgen. Dit heeft grote voordelen vanwege de computationele handelbaarheid van GGM. An integrated approach for the HCl and metals recovery from waste pickling solutions: pilot plant and design operations

Abstract Continuous regeneration of industrial pickling solutions and recovery of valuable materials are implemented in a pilot-scale plant including diffusion dialysis (DD), where HCl is recovered, membrane distillation (MD), where HCl is concentrated, and reactive precipitation (CSTR), where metal ions are recovered in different forms. The integration of the three processes allows to minimize waste streams generation and to accomplish a closed-loop process, thus increasing the environmental sustainability and economic impact of the galvanizing industry.
