De nye satellittene vil være 100 ganger kraftigere enn dagens og vil kunne øke kommunikasjons-kapasiteten betraktelig. Denne rapporten ser på muligheten til å øke dataraten i videreutviklingen av Nera SatCom AS sitt eksisterende utstyr når de nye satellittene tas i bruk. Det er vurdert kombinasjoner av modulasjonsmetoder og koderater for å kunne øke dataraten. Kombinasjonene er vurdert med hensyn på kritiske parametre i en satellitt link.
