Per celebrare l’Unità d’Italia nel suo 150° ha preso il via da Palermo al Real Albergo delle Povere una mostra voluta dal Ministero per lo Sviuppo. Negli obiettivi, la volontà di realizzare una mostra che, non solo itinerante, applicasse l’uso di tecnologie innovative, sia removibili sia reversibili. Oggetto del presente contributo è chiarire come sin dal progetto sia possibile definire, attraverso l’uso appropriato della tecnologia a secco, ambienti, spazi e scenari adattabili di volta in volta a luoghi diversi. A Palermo il test della mostra ’900 ha dimostrato l’efficacia realizzativa potendo poi la stessa esser trasportata in altre città internazionali senza lo spreco di un solo elemento.
Comparisons of processing and strength properties of two adhesive systems for composite joints

Abstract In the present study rheological, static and impact tests are carried out on two adhesive resins usually employed in marine applications; then single lap joint tests are conducted on composites joints evidencing the effect of the curing time of both resins on the mechanical properties of the joint. The applicability and workability conditions of the adhesive resins are determined evaluating the curing evolution by a preliminary rheological analysis; then the relation of curing properties with the mechanical performances of the resins themselves and with ones of the composite joints is estimated. The Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), apart form its conventional use as a microscope, is also used for the characterization of the local mechanical properties of polymers. In fact, the elastic characterization of purely elastic materials using this instrument can be considered as a well assessed technique while the challenge remains the characterization of the viscoelastic mechanical properties. The aims of the research were to evaluate the effectiveness of the application of nanostructured products on Volterra calcarenite stone and to define the experimental conditions and procedures of accelerated aging tests, able to simulate different degradation on the studied lithotype. The work focused on methods of performing accelerated aging tests in order to simulate different effects of environmental decay involving stone used on a historical site.
